"Kerry Taylor came highly recommended, yet he still exceeded our expectations…
The scope of our project included moving and creating a chef’s kitchen, remodeling two bathrooms, re-routing an existing staircase, removing a fireplace and installing 12” x 8” glass sliding doors, moving windows, electrical and lighting installation, and at least a dozen other small upgrades and changes. Mechanical and structural engineering were also needed due to the removal of part of an existing wall to enhance the ocean views.
Kerry led his team with respect and professionalism. Kerry’s team (both employees and subcontractors) were also responsive, hard-working and professional. They showed up on time, worked consistently, provided high-quality craftsmanship and cleaned up their work areas at the end of every day.
In long and complex projects, challenges will always arise. That’s when a really good contractor makes the biggest difference! Kerry was always accessible. I don’t know how he was able to return phone calls, emails and text messages so quickly, but he always did. And he remained calm, professional, and confident that a solution could be worked out.
The project was completed on time, and on budget. Thank you, Kerry and TaylorPro!Kerry Taylor came highly recommended, yet he still exceeded our expectations…

"I've been very satisfied with all of Taylor Pro's work. His team is always respectful and friendly and quality work was done. Whenever any issues arose, Kerry Taylor notified me quickly to discuss possible solutions to the problem. Kerry also provided many alternatives to the design that I had not considered before which improved the final results. Taylor Pro held to their original estimates and the few change orders needed were minor and due to unforeseen circumstances or me changing my mind about some design detail. I have owned 12 houses over the last 12 years and engaged many contractors. I would put Taylor Pro at the top of my list.
Description of work:
Over the last three years, Taylor Pro has done 3 phases of remodeling in my home. The first phase remodeling two of my bathrooms including reconfiguration to replace a shower with a tub/shower and complete replacement of all tile and finishes. The second phase included adding two new bathrooms, a new entry hall, and reconfiguration of an existing space into a bedroom. The third phase was a complete remodel of my kitchen and laundry which included removing several walls to open up the space. "

"Kerry Taylor was professional and courteous from our first meeting forwards. We took a long time to decide on our final design but Kerry and his design team were patient and respectful and waited until we were ready to move forward. There was never a sense of being pushed into anything we didn’t like. They listened, carefully considered our requests and delivered an awesome plan for our new bathroom. Kerry also broke down everything so that we could consider several alternatives for features and finishes and was mindful to stay within our budget. He accommodated some on-the-fly changes, after construction was underway and suggested effective solutions for any unforeseen problems that arose.
Having construction done in close proximity to our master bedroom was a challenge but the excellent crew TaylorPro had on our job made it relatively painless: courteous and polite, arrived on time daily, worked hard, pretty much nonstop and cleaned up every day before leaving. If there were any delays, Kerry made sure to communicate with us quickly and was always available to talk when we had concerns or questions."
This Carlsbad couple yearned for a generous master bath that included a big soaking tub, double vanity, water closet, large walk-in shower, and walk in closet. Unfortunately, their current master bathroom was only 6'x12'.
Our design team went to work and came up with a solution to push the back wall into an unused 2nd floor vaulted space in the garage, and further expand the new master bath footprint into two existing closet areas. These inventive expansions made it possible for their luxurious master bath dreams to come true.
Just goes to show that, with TaylorPro Design & Remodeling, fitting a square peg in a round hole could be possible!

"The Flow Wall System has been a huge success; my family is so happy to have all our garage storage items off the floor and on the wall. The system has worked particularly well for storing my fishing equipment in addition to our garden tools, pet supplies, and outdoor clothing. Our neighbors are equally impressed. Thanks, Flow Wall, for helping us make order out of chaos!" - Forest D.

Starting out with a project that has good bones is always a bonus as was the case with the project. This young family has a great house on a great street in a great location. The kitchen was a large space with ample room and great view to the backyard. The dated cabinets and large peninsula layout however were not working for them, so they came in looking for a fresh start.
Goals for the project included adding a large island with seating for four and a bright, open and cheerful space for daily meals and entertaining. Our clients also wanted to keep the existing breakfast table, but the original space did not allow for an island and breakfast table. Our solution was to create banquette seating which gave us the extra inches necessary to accomplish both.
The larger awning window over the kitchen sink allows for ample light in the new space. The wall between the kitchen and family room was partially removed to provide the more open feeling our clients desired.
The work triangle is centered on the island which serves as a big open prep space conveniently located across from the large pro style range. The island also houses the microwave and a 2nd oven for larger gatherings. A new counter depth fridge and beverage center provide options for refrigeration.
A simple pallet of white cabinetry, Carrera marble countertops and polished nickel fixtures will be a timeless look and provide a lovely backdrop for entertaining and spending time with family.

This small studio has everything! It includes apartment size small white appliances, stunning colors (Diamond Cloud Gray cabinets), and great storage solutions!
Besides the beauty of the turquoise backsplash and clean lines this small space is extremely functional! Warm wood boxes were custom made to house all of the cooking essentials in arms reach. The cabinets flow completely to the ceiling to allow for every inch of storage space to be used. Grey cabinets are even above the kitchen window.

The homeowners of this mid-century Colonial and family of four were frustrated with the layout of their existing kitchen which was a small, narrow peninsula layout but that was adjoining a large space that they could not figure out how to use. Stealing part of the unused space seemed like an easy solution, except that there was an existing transition in floor height which made that a bit tricky. The solution of bringing the floor height up to meet the height of the existing kitchen allowed us to do just that.
This solution also offered some challenges. The exterior door had to be raised which resulted in some exterior rework, and the floor transition had to happen somewhere to get out to the garage, so we ended up “pushing” it towards what is now a new mudroom and powder room area. This solution allows for a small but functional and hidden mudroom area and more private powder room situation.
Another challenge of the design was the very narrow space. To minimize issues with this, we moved the location of the refrigerator into the newly found space which gave us an L-shaped layout allowing for an island and even some shallow pantry storage. The windows over the kitchen sink were expanded in size and relocated to allow more light into the room. A breakfast table fits perfectly in the area adjacent to the existing French doors and there was even room for a small bar area that helps transition from inside to outside for entertaining. The confusing unused space now makes sense and provides functionality on a daily basis.
To help bring some calm to this busy family, a pallet of soft neutrals was chosen -- gray glass tile with a simple metal accent strip, clear modern pendant lights and a neutral color scheme for cabinetry and countertops.

The kitchen is large space with an open setting. While the island is small and only seats two, there is still space in the dining area and the window bar.
