The Reel garden "rocking" sofa by Pio & Tito Toso for Emu is almost impossible to describe precisely as it is part rocking-chair, part swing and part sofa, but it is definitely the perfect place to relax and gather your thoughts.
The concept underlying Reel’s design is the curve, like the curve of a smile inviting you on an intimate and relaxing journey far from the chaos and stress of everyday life that surrounds us.
Featuring an extremely comfortable sofa seat with a shaded canopy, Reel is certainly a statement piece for any garden, terrace, or patio. An added feature is that Reel can transform into a large and luxuriously comfortable daybed, since the backrest can be easily adjusted to lie flat. The sunshade canopy similarly tilts and adjusts, allowing the light to filter through naturally and delicately.
The strong frame is made from painted steel whilst the shaded canopy is in olefin, a garden suitable fabric which is soft with a light texture but extremely resilient, as well as water and colour resistant, long-lasting and perfect for outdoor use. The sofa seat is suspended by double braided beige rope with a strong core and a propylene covering which is waterproof and resistant to UV rays.
There are three different colour ways to choose from; firstly, an antique iron frame and a dark grey canopy, secondly a matt white frame and a white canopy, or finally a grey-green frame and a taupe canopy. All three options have beige rope.
The large comfortable sofa cushion is covered in a range of fabrics chosen for their ability to withstand the elements and suitable for use outdoors. We have priced several basic fabric choices, for all other cushion options, please contact our showroom. Scatter cushions are not included but can be purchased separately.
It is also possible to add an eco leather storage bag or small teak shelf to the side of the frame, both are useful for your books or magazines, or other items.
Emu are an Italian brand with a wide collection of beautifully made garden furniture.

When it comes to commercial roofing, there’s a wide choice of shapes, sizes, and materials available, each designed to meet unique needs and requirements.
Knowing the different types of commercial roofs available is important for property owners and managers who want the best roofing solution for their workplace.
Let’s explore the diverse world of commercial roofing, highlighting the various types and their distinct characteristics.
1. Built-up roofing (BUR)
Built-Up Roofing, commonly known as BUR, is one of the oldest and most traditional systems used for commercial roofing.
BUR consists of multiple layers of bitumen alternated with ply sheets, typically made of fibreglass or organic materials. These layers are then topped with a final layer of gravel or mineral granules for added durability and weather resistance.
BUR roofs are known for their longevity and ability to withstand heavy foot traffic, making them ideal for busy commercial buildings with lots of people coming in and out.
2. Single-ply membrane roofing
Single-ply membrane roofing systems, such as TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) and EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer), are popular because they’re easy to install and a cost-effective choice.
Both have great benefits to suit different commercial roofing needs. TPO membranes are known for their white reflective surface, which helps reduce heat absorption and energy costs.
However, EPDM membranes offer excellent durability and resistance to UV rays and harsh weather conditions.
3. Metal roofing
Metal roofing systems are best known for their durability, longevity, and versatility. Common materials used in commercial metal roofing include steel, aluminium, and copper.
Metal roofs can be installed in various configurations by commercial roofing contractors, including standing seam, corrugated panels, and metal shingles.
They provide superior protection against fire, wind, and moisture and are popular for their aesthetic appeal and low maintenance requirements.
4. Shingle roofing
Shingle roofing is usually found on residential buildings and traditional houses, but it can also be used on commercial properties with steep roof lines.
Shingles are available in various materials like asphalt, architectural, slate, plastic, and ceramic, to name a few.
Although it’s not the most popular choice for commercial buildings, shingle roofing is known for being easy to install and repair, affordable, and extremely versatile.
5. Green roofing
Green roofing systems can sometimes be referred to as vegetative or living roofs, and are designed to incorporate vegetation and plants into the roofing structure.
These roofs are popular for their environmental benefits, including improved air quality, reduced urban heat island effect, and stormwater management.
Green roofs come in two types – the extensive kind, which has lightweight plants like sedum or grass, and the intensive kind, with deeper soil and a bigger mix of plant species.
6. Solar roofing
Solar roofing systems integrate solar panels or photovoltaic cells into the roofing material, allowing buildings to generate clean and renewable energy.
These roofs harness the power of the sun to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions while providing additional protection against the elements.
Solar roofing is an excellent choice for environmentally conscious businesses looking to offset their energy consumption and reduce their ecological footprint.
Are you in need of commercial roofing services?
By understanding the different types of commercial roofing options available, property owners and managers can make informed decisions and choose the best roofing solution for their buildings.
Choosing the right commercial roofing services to suit your needs is the first step to an exciting roofing project ahead.
