This Phoenix, Arcadia home was remodeled and designed for clients who wanted a contemporary look, but who also wanted their new Phoenix home to reflect on the years they spent living in Japan. Pops of color throughout the home; such as the blue bookcase in the dining room and the purple chair in the living room provided bold statements, to a otherwise mostly neutral color palette. Elle Interiors approach was to create a sophisticated, serene, yet interesting home that would stand up to time. Our clients love their new home, and get constant compliments on the design.

Deep hues of purple, bright greens, and white crown molding make this room really pop. Striped wall coverings create the illusion of space in this small, but dreamy bedroom. Canopy beds provide each sleeper with privacy, while overhanging chrome floor lamps allow for personalized lighting. To keep the room light, white flowers have been incorporated into the wall art and bed spreads.

This property has a wonderful juxtaposition of modern and traditional elements, which are unified by a natural planting scheme. Although the house is traditional, the client desired some contemporary elements, enabling us to introduce rusted steel fences and arbors, black granite for the barbeque counter, and black African slate for the main terrace. An existing brick retaining wall was saved and forms the backdrop for a long fountain with two stone water sources. Almost an acre in size, the property has several destinations. A winding set of steps takes the visitor up the hill to a redwood hot tub, set in a deck amongst walls and stone pillars, overlooking the property. Another winding path takes the visitor to the arbor at the end of the property, furnished with Emu chaises, with relaxing views back to the house, and easy access to the adjacent vegetable garden.

Inspiration for a contemporary mosaic tile floor and gray floor bathroom remodel in Nashville with shaker cabinets, black cabinets, purple walls, an undermount sink and white countertops

From the street, a round rock pathway leads to a small seating area next to the water with a small fire pit. Low maintenance, drought resistant and salt tolerant plantings were used in mass and clumps. This garden has become the focus of the neighborhood with many visitors stopping and enjoying what has become a neighborhood landmark. Located on the shores of Puget Sound in Washington State. The bluestone patio was screened from the neighbors with a wall of arborvitae. Lush perennial gardens provide flower cutting opportunities and color to offset the green wall.

This colorful family wanted to reflect their love of art, color and their personality in a bold way. Long time fans of purple, orange and Moroccan styles, they sought a designer who would help support that adventure vs. the more traveled path of neutral trends.

This transitional guest bedroom is unique and fun. The metal bed contrast well with the rustic night stands. Adding color is reflected in the paisley bedding and the purple walls. The use of the off-white of the panels, marble lamps and the juju hat really bring out the other colors.

Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains.

Perennial color is of course the most popular as the investment pays dividends as time goes on. Annual color then is trustworthy, filling the void between successive perennial blooms and providing consistent color throughout the summer.

Small Bedroom decorating ideas! Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson began this Bedroom remodel with Benjamin Moore's 2017 color of the year… “Shadow” 2117-30
Rebecca wanted a bold statement color for this small Bedroom. Something that would say WOW. Her next step was to find a bold statement piece of art to create the color palette for the rest of the room. From the art piece came bedding choices, a fabulous over-died antique area rug (Aja Rugs) randomly collected throw pillows and furniture pieces that would provide a comfortable Bedroom but not fill the space unnecessarily. Rebecca had white linen, custom window treatments made and chose white bedding to ground the space, keeping it light and airy. Playing up the 13' concrete ceilings, Rebecca used modern light fixtures with white shades to pop off the purple wall creating an exciting first... and lasting, impression!
