Traditional white two-story brick exterior home idea in Raleigh

The homes exterior brick was changed from it's original red/yellow brick and painted it a light beige grey color. I added board and batten shutters and new exterior lighting. I extended the front porch out by an additional 4 feet making it a true sitting porch. A new rock border along the pathway leads you to the front door. and new planter boxes were added underneath the windows.

The restoration of this 200 year old home was inspired by a Greek revival style, characteristic of early American architecture. A local housewright and historian worked together with Daniel Contelmo during the restoration in order to preserve the home's antiquity. Most of the foundation remains the original fieldstone, and the exposed hand-hewn beams were carefully removed, restored, and replaced. Traditional Pine Plains windows and a wrap-around porch display the pastoral 10 acre site, complete with lake and Catskill mountain views. Although the interior of the house was completely renovated, a New-Old house technique was used by distressing 20 inch-wide floorboards, installing two Rumford fireplaces, and using milk paint on cabinetry. Prior to renovating the home a magnificent timberframe barn was erected in the location where an original 1800s barn had burned down 100 years previously.

This complete remodel of a 1980's red brick ranch house transform the home from boring to amazing. All existing ceilings were raised to create a more spacious interior. Also included in the project was a 3 -car garage addition with guest quarters above. Photos by Robert Clark and Joel Van Dyke

Our Custom Elite Bahama style shutters work beautifully for porches and decks. They are excellent for both privacy and sun control. We custom build and install them ourselves. Each of these shutters span over 5' in width and almost 6' in height. This project is located in Greenville, South Carolina.

A new Tudor bay added to the front of an existing red brick home using new stone to integrate the base with the existing stone base. Fir windows and cedar trim are stained complementary colors. The darker window color draws out the dark "clinker" bricks. The roof is Certainteed Grand Manor asphalt shingles designed to appear as slate. The gutters and downspouts are copper.
