Rich, warm yet strikingly beautiful! This kitchen got a major overhaul with its oversized island housing a pre-sing, wine fridge, and tons of storage. Relocation of the refractor to make way for the gourmet range alongside the existing window framed sink. This kitchen is "L" shaped and has a hidden pantry built-in behind the fridge.

This stunning kitchen exhibits elegance at every turn.
Materials and finishes like white "raised panel" style cabinets combined with inverted panel fronts and stone countertops with dark wide plank wood floors all complete this stunning space.
As we look closer we see the beautifully integrated hood and curved front that is similar in style to the curved front that graces the 5 panel casement window.
The dark wood heavily grained island truly compliments the cool colors and elegance of this kitchen.
Those are the types of details that makes this room so special.

The project was divided into three phases over the course of seven years. We were originally hired to re-design the master bath. Phase two was more significant; the garden and parlor levels of the house would be reconfigured to work more efficiently with their lifestyle. The kitchen would double in size and would include a back staircase leading to a cozy den/office and back garden for dining al fresco. The last, most recent phase would include an update to the guest room and a larger, more functional teenage suite. When you work with great clients, it is a pleasure to keep coming back! It speaks to the relationship part of our job, which is one of my favorites.

THE LIBRARY/ BAR AREA: A Territorial Style Track Home, of 8-inch burndt adobe with mortar wash finish. The re-design included an all white interior to assist in opening the homes interior spaces to more daylight and spatial relationships. The new design accommodated a collection of family antiques as though 'fine art' strategically placed into large furniture niches to receive a particular piece, at a particular place for it's frontal view. The result was a light airy Modern series of spaces that flow together as a forms of light, shade & shadow to house (or present) the fine art pieces. Whether antiquarian books, a steinway baby grand piano, a persian rug, or heavily carved monastery chest, the all-white concept provided a beautiful yet practical placement of the many fine pieces the Homeowner's had inherited.

A'Bear & Ball Architect's own studio and associated landscaping was built to a tight budget of £15K. The heavily insulated timber framed structure is clad externally with stained timber and is complemented by a large format glazed screen and powder coated aluminium bi-fold doors which offer a fantastic transparent relationship with the new landscaping. The large opening areas of glazing allow the space to spill out onto the terrace. Sensitive lighting and a water feature create a peaceful and tranquil environment.

Built on gently sloping land in suburban Melbourne, this contemporary and environmentally friendly home is designed to integrate seamlessly with the inherent natural beauty of the existing site.
Our approach favoured the use of natural materials, both inside and out, in order to create a relationship between the house and its surrounding environment. A series of inter-connecting rooms allow clear lines of vision throughout the house while also maximising the available light.
The application of passive solar design principles provides an abundance of warmth in winter and captures cooling breezes during summer. This light filled, split level home features the intelligent and sensitive application of sustainable design principles, conveying a feeling of openness, expansiveness and calm.
