Reminiscent of a villa in south of France, this Old World yet still sophisticated home are what the client had dreamed of. The home was newly built to the client’s specifications. The wood tone kitchen cabinets are made of butternut wood, instantly warming the atmosphere. The perimeter and island cabinets are painted and captivating against the limestone counter tops. A custom steel hammered hood and Apex wood flooring (Downers Grove, IL) bring this room to an artful balance.

A charming 1920s colonial had a dated dark kitchen that was not in keeping with the historic charm of the home. The owners, who adored British design, wanted a kitchen that was spacious and storage friendly, with the feel of a classic English kitchen. Designer Sarah Robertson of Studio Dearborn helped her client, while architect Greg Lewis redesigned the home to accommodate a larger kitchen, new primary bath, mudroom, and butlers pantry.

A young Mexican couple approached us to create a streamline modern and fresh home for their growing family. They expressed a desire for natural textures and finishes such as natural stone and a variety of woods to juxtapose against a clean linear white backdrop.
For the kid’s rooms we are staying within the modern and fresh feel of the house while bringing in pops of bright color such as lime green. We are looking to incorporate interactive features such as a chalkboard wall and fun unique kid size furniture.
The bathrooms are very linear and play with the concept of planes in the use of materials. They will be a study in contrasting and complementary textures established with tiles from resin inlaid with pebbles to a long porcelain tile that resembles wood grain.
This beautiful house is a 5 bedroom home located in Presidential Estates in Aventura, FL.

Desirous of a lounge type living room, Rebecca creates a comfortable conversation area with 4 upholstered chairs facing each other. The casual jute ottoman placed in the center of the grouping adds to the causal nature of this family friendly home. Custom built-in bunk beds: We utilized the length and unique shape of the room by building a double twin-over-full bunk wall. This picture is also before a grasscloth wallcovering was installed on the wall behind the bunks.

The nursery pictured in this article was the bedroom of this family’s first child, a girl, which we had previously designed for her in 2015, and with a few changes, is now the nursery for her little brother. The wallcoverings, light fixture, glider chair, and other furnishings all carried over from first to second, girl to boy. To update the room, we selected new drapery, in a fun, animal pattern, by Katie Ridder (via Holland and Cherry) and a beautiful high-quality wool rug from STARK, in a blue stripe that may stay relevant until college.

This amazing kitchen was a total transformation from the original. Windows were removed and added, walls moved back and a total remodel.
The original plain ceiling was changed to a coffered ceiling, the lighting all totally re-arranged, new floors, trim work as well as the new layout.
I designed the kitchen with a horizontal wood grain using a custom door panel design, this is used also in the detailing of the front apron of the soapstone sink. The profile is also picked up on the profile edge of the marble island.
The floor is a combination of a high shine/flat porcelain. The high shine is run around the perimeter and around the island. The Boos chopping board at the working end of the island is set into the marble, sitting on top of a bowed base cabinet. At the other end of the island i pulled in the curve to allow for the glass table to sit over it, the grain on the island follows the flat panel doors. All the upper doors have Blum Aventos lift systems and the chefs pantry has ample storage. Also for storage i used 2 aluminium appliance garages. The glass tile backsplash is a combination of a pencil used vertical and square tiles. Over in the breakfast area we chose a concrete top table with supports that mirror the custom designed open bookcase.
The project is spectacular and the clients are very happy with the end results.

I designed and painted the silhouettes in this soft yet bold nursery for Atlanta designer Dawn Kines in Nashville. We really loved the way the whole room turned out. It has such a wow factor when you walk into the room and yet it has a very soothing vibe as well. Visually arresting without being too overpowering. The sunlight streaming in through the white shears is lovely. This room will stay relevant for many years. The color palette is unusual for a nursery and combined with the stripes and silhouettes looks amazing. A design like this would also make a great family tree in a den, bedroom, stairwell or home office as well. A tree of your life concept. Paint colors are Sweetbriar and Green Crystal by Porter Paints. Go to ppgporterpaints.com to find a local retailer and to see samples of the colors. Hi-Hide interior flat. The stripes are 18" and 9". Would also work at 16" and 8".
