A warm contemporary plan, with a distinctive stairwell tower. They chose us because of the variety of styles we’ve built in the past, the other satisfied clients they spoke with, and our transparent financial reporting throughout the building process. Positioned on the site for privacy and to protect the natural vegetation, it was important that all the details—including disability access throughout.
A professional lighting designer specified all-LED lighting. Energy-efficient geothermal HVAC, expansive windows, and clean, finely finished details. Built on a sloped lot, the 3,300-sq.-ft. home appears modest in size from the driveway, but the expansive, finished lower level, with ample windows, offers several useful spaces, for everyday living and guest quarters.
Contemporary exterior features a custom milled front entry & nickel gap vertical siding. Unique, 17'-tall stairwell tower, with plunging 9-light LED pendant fixture. Custom, handcrafted concrete hearth spans the entire fireplace. Lower level includes an exercise room, outfitted for an Endless Pool.

This new modern house is located in a meadow in Lenox MA. The house is designed as a series of linked pavilions to connect the house to the nature and to provide the maximum daylight in each room. The center focus of the home is the largest pavilion containing the living/dining/kitchen, with the guest pavilion to the south and the master bedroom and screen porch pavilions to the west. While the roof line appears flat from the exterior, the roofs of each pavilion have a pronounced slope inward and to the north, a sort of funnel shape. This design allows rain water to channel via a scupper to cisterns located on the north side of the house. Steel beams, Douglas fir rafters and purlins are exposed in the living/dining/kitchen pavilion.

Exposed framing is possible because all the insulation is on the outside of the house. This concept is called "Perfect Wall" and was originally designed by Building Science Corporation's founder Joe Lstiburek. This modern landscape w warm inviting touched brings the owners personal touches into play. We used Mediterranean plantings w majestic fruitless olive trees, plenty of native grasses, succulents and perennial color to surround this warm modern home. Many creative touches including a driveway turnaround parking area with synthetic lawn and concrete strips, subtle stone water features, steel and wood trellises, inset tile paving and imported antique wood doors were selected and placed in this landscape.

Modern bathroom. The room exudes a clean and bright aesthetic, bathed in ample natural light. Its white subway tile walls provide a pristine canvas, harmonizing beautifully with the terrazzo flooring that extends halfway up the wall near the vanity. The centerpiece of the bathroom is a large framed mirror positioned above a floating double vanity with vessel sink. The wooden cabinetry of the vanity offers discreet storage, its design seamlessly matching the wooden door and mirror frame.
To the left of the sink, a delightful vignette awaits—a small area adorned with red flowers in a vase and two glass containers. A neatly hung towel with warmers graces the nearby door.
On the right side, a transparent glass enclosure houses a walk-in shower. Within this serene space, two distinct showerheads beckon: one mounted on the wall and another overhead rain shower fixture. The shower’s back wall features tiles that echo the overall design theme

This is our stunning, modern interpretation of the gabled beach bungalow. The home emerges from the sloped walk street, lifting your eye to the distinct roofline and expansive deck. Leveraging the opportunity for a reverse floor plan, the main living spaces enjoy stunning ocean views and vaulted ceilings.

This house, in eastern Washington’s Kittitas County, is sited on the shallow incline of a slight elevation, in the midst of fifty acres of pasture and prairie grassland, a place of vast expanses, where only distant hills and the occasional isolated tree interrupt the view toward the horizon. Where another design might seem to be an alien import, this house feels entirely native, powerfully attached to the land. Set back from and protected under the tent-like protection of the roof, the front of the house is entirely transparent, glowing like a lantern in the evening.
Along the windowed wall that looks out over the porch, a full-length enfilade reaches out to the far window at each end. Steep ship’s ladders on either side of the great room lead to loft spaces, lighted by a single window placed high on the gable ends. On either side of the massive stone fireplace, angled window seats offer views of the grasslands and of the watch tower. Eight-foot-high accordion doors at the porch end of the great room fold away, extending the room out to a screened space for summer, a glass-enclosed solarium in winter.
In addition to serving as an observation look-out and beacon, the tower serves the practical function of housing a below-grade wine cellar and sleeping benches. Tower and house align from entrance to entrance, literally linked by a pathway, set off axis and leading to steps that descend into the courtyard.
