A custom built table was crafted from the leftover red pine logs used in the construction of this home. A mix of blue and white painted cabinets add interest to the kitchen design. Glamour is the name of the game for this gorgeous flat in the 8th arrondissement in Paris. For Victoria's first international project, she went all out with this client's favorite jewel tones, lush materials, and statement light fixtures. The wall between the kitchen and dining/living room was removed to create an American-inspired “open concept”, the trim was painted black to add contrast to the previously all-white walls, and the wood floors were re-stained to tone down the yellowed oak. Throughout the home, bold colors took center stage with a deep turquoise office/guest quarters and rich sapphire with silver enchant the master bedroom for a luxurious look. In the kitchen, the client had the great idea of adding a bench at the end of the new waterfall countertop, which led to the creation of a mini Parisian-inspired bistro vignette. In the main living space of the home, the only must-have was two custom velvet fuchsia sofas in the living room, so from fun prints in turquoises and purples were mixed for a rich, layered atmosphere. Amazingly, almost everything was sourced from the U.S. and shipped over to Paris. The Parisian project came to an end with a fun-filled trip to Paris where fabulous accessories to personalize the overall design were sourced and hand selected.

This lovely breakfast room, overlooking the garden, is an inviting place to start your day lingering over Sunday morning coffee. I had the walls painted in a soft coral, contrasting with various wood tones in the armoire, table and shades. It is all tied together by keeping the chair covers and rug light in color. The crystal chandelier is an unexpected element in a breakfast room, yet, your not compelled to pull out the china and silver.

The proportions of the original dining furniture were good but the finishes and shapes felt tired. That and the rusty red walls felt wrong for what our client was hoping to see. We changed the floors to pale wood-look tile and moved to a more transitional style of furniture. The magnificent chandelier by Kelly Wearstler set the elegant and clean tone for the whole space

The peeks of container throughout the home are a nod to its signature architectural detail. Bringing the outdoors in was also important to the homeowners and the designers were able to harvest trees from the property to use throughout the home. Natural light pours into the home during the day from the many purposefully positioned windows, but the LED accents and extraordinary hand-made fixtures sprinkled throughout act as art pieces and set the retreat aglow in the evening hours. Moving right through to the home’s open living and kitchen area allows for easy entertaining.
