Designed by Akram Aljahmi of Reico Kitchen & Bath in King of Prussia, PA this transitional farmhouse inspired kitchen design features Green Forest Cabinetry kitchen cabinets in the Sierra door style in 2 finishes. The perimeter kitchen cabinets features a White finish and the kitchen island features a Summit Grey finish. Kitchen countertops are engineered quartz by MSI in the color Carrara Marmi. The tile back splash combines white subway tile with a Vintage Twenties tile behind the oven and ventilation hood. Says the client, "Working with Akram was a great experience. He communicated quickly, coordinated times for me to see the products I was interested in and provided revised quotes to help meet the look and budget we wanted. Akram was patient in helping us understand and see all the options and choose what worked best for our needs. Our favorite part is the addition of the pantry cabinets. When man's aspiration is the sky, the ground is only a resistance. - Sverre Fehn In this renovation, a conventional masonry row house is opened up to the sky, with a light, airy interior. The original floor plan was completely transformed for more efficient function and a greater sense of spatial connection, both vertically and horizontally. From a grounded lower level, with concrete, cork, and warm finishes, an abstract composition of crisp forms emerges. The kitchen sits at the center of the house as a hearth, establishing the line between dark and light, illustrated through wenge base cabinets with light anigre above. Service spaces such as bathrooms and closets are hidden within the thickness of walls, contributing to the overall simplicity of the design. A new central staircase serves as the backbone of the composition, bordered by a cable wall tensioned top and bottom, connecting the solid base of the house with the light steel structure above. A glass roof hovers overhead, as gravity recedes and walls seem to rise up and float. The overall effect is clean and minimal, transforming vertically from dark to light, warm to cool, grounded to weightless, and culminating in a space composed of line and plane, shadows and light.

This classically designed French Manor house brings the timeless style of Paris to Texas. The roof is natural slate. The elevation is Cast Stone. The sidewalk is Leuters Limestone inset with Pennsylvania Bluestone.

Photographer: Tom Crane Made of 300, 10-foot steel blades set upright 8 inches apart, the award winning Cor-Ten Cattails Sculptural fence was designed for a home in Berwyn, Pennsylvania as a yard sculpture that also keeps deer out. Made of COR-TEN, a steel alloy that eliminates the need for painting and maintains a rich, dark rust color without corroding, the fence stanchions were cut with a plasma cutter from sheets of the alloy. Each blade stands 8 feet above grade, set in concrete 3 feet below, weighs 80-90 pounds and is 5/8 inch thick. The profile of the blades is an irregular trapezoid with no horizontal connections or supports. Only the gate has two horizontal bars, and each leaf weighs 1200 pounds.
