Kids Bedrooms can be fun. This preteen bedroom design was create for a young girl in need o her own bedroom. Having shared bedrooms with hr younger sister it was time Abby had her own room! Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson took the box shaped room and added a much needed closet by using Ikea's PAX wardrobe system which flanked either side of the window. This provided the perfect spot to add a simple bench seat below the window creating a delightful window seat for young Abby to curl up and enjoy a great book or text a friend. Robeson's artful use of bright wall colors mixed with PB teen bedding makes for a fun exhilarating first impression when walking into Abby's room! This living room has twenty foot ceilings with five separate windows. Two large windows on one wall facing south east, one above the other, and three smaller windows located on the adjacent east facing wall. The room is bathed in sunlight from sun up till mid afternoon.
The window pictured here was the only one at ground level the other four are all on the upper level. This window features a traditional swag with cascades and tied back panels with traversing sheers.
All the windows on the upper level feature remote control screen shades to which are usually lowered in the morning and only raised in the afternoon or evening. The screen shades were added to reduce heat and to protect the furniture from the UV rays.

Most shades, blinds, shutters or curtains allow some type of light through when they are closed which can be very frustrating, especially if you’re trying to take a nap or enjoying a movie in a home theater. Or with the kids being back in school, it’s sometimes hard to get them to bed early with the evening light shining in the room.
We have a solution. That is what blackout window treatments were made for. You can get a variety of products as “blackout”, such as; curtains, shades, blinds, roman shades, honeycomb shades, roller shades, vertical shades, and specialty shades (silhouette, pirouette, luminette). Even certain type of Shutters provide blackout.
Blackout window treatments have a variety of benefits than just blocking natural light, which make them a wise choice in any home. At Abda, we have a huge selection of blackout window treatments that block most natural light from entering your window, keeping bedrooms, nurseries and media rooms as dark as you like. With a variety of customizable options, blackout window treatments are available as insulating cellular shades, stylish roller shades and fashionable fabric curtains. Each of these window treatments can be personalized with color and control options perfectly suited to your room and style.

Bedroom in downtown loft with NO windows! This was the challenge Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson faced when beginning this Denver Loft Remodel.
Rebecca began by identifying the focal-point wall and addressing the overall dark feel of the room. She painted 3 walls a soft grey and one wall a dark navy blue. Rebecca applied her creative genius to the space by hanging nine beveled mirrors on the dark wall above the bed as a clever way to fool the eye into thinking the mirrors were windows. To further indulge the concept, Rebecca added crisp white linen panels to mimic window treatments on either side. This design idea created a dramatic symmetrical backdrop for the Bedroom furniture... A spectacular oversized blue and white rug (Aja Rugs) sets a perfect foundation for the queen size bed with two oversize nightstands in crisp white, the Bedroom was complete.
