Our design for the 2013 SF Flower and Garden show was themed after the country of Iceland. We used over 40 tons of stone and gravel. The design includes a green roof play house for kids, a day bed made from a 4500 pound rock and a main patio with a sleek metal water feature.

Ipe wood accents help highlight the black exterior color of the this Cape re-design. In order to integrate the sloped terrain and create ample gathering spaces, we created various levels in the landscape. The terraced levels help open up the narrow space and provide better views to the Hudson River below. Ornamental grasses and ferns and a simple palette of white plantings create dimension against the black architecture. Native pea stone create simple yet thoughtful patios and walking paths.

Excerpt via our website ~ "The spacious interior is large enough to comfortably sit a family of six. The beefy tongue and groove 2×6 flooring is durable enough to support a Jacuzzi, hot tub or whirlpool spa. Eleven screens create a vast amount of air flow and clear views while a heavy duty screen door is hung with sturdy black hardware. There is no plywood used in this design, it is made completely with native lumber grown in the USA. Available as a screen room ~ or optional insulated double hung windows ~ as cabin kits (estimated assembly time - 2 people, 28 hours), diy cabin floor plans ($50) or as a fully assembled backyard garden building."
