Selwyn ProjectContemporary Landscape, Charlotte

The existing zigzag brick walls provided a perfect opportunity for doing something more organic on the ground level of this backyard. Four tree-form 'Diabolo' ninebarks anchor each corner of the wall while a serpentine gravel pathway leads the eye to the upper terrace, which is a new conifer zen garden. Photo taken February, 2015, just after installation. Photo by Jay Sifford.

A few too many curves for me - looks like a river - maybe that's what the goal was? But a good alternative to the first level of the back yard to level it out using steel edging to create the change in height.
