I love the flooring here. Gorgeous job on entire house! We are getting ready to finish our basement. We inherited honey-amber toned red oak hardwoods (with restrained graining) throughout the upper portion of the house. Someone suggested using the basement as a way to depart from that. But we do have the oak covering the stairs leading down. Can you tell me if it's okay to change flooring/stain in a basement when the existing stairs are different to the new flooring? Rules of thumb? Also, I would love to know the flooring that is here in this project's basement. Thank you!
