I also think this is a beautiful bathroom and I would love to know what the gray surface is made of.

Steel troweled cement plaster is my guess. There's a good bit of it by John Lum if you search. This apparently is stucco, unfinished, and can be sealed, and even colored, though I like the natural as well. from what I've read, it's durable and more cist effective than granite or marble. and if course, no grout!

Water proofing to window - Love the concept of looking out window from the shower. How did you water proof what looks like a timber surround window?

Bonnie McCarthy added this to How the Heck Do You Clean a Glass Shower Door?
A Natural AlternativeA mixture of baking soda and water makes a scum-fighting scrub that many experts swear by. Measurements for the mixture will vary depending on how much you need. To get started, try using a half-cup of baking soda, then add water as needed to make a thick paste. Using a nonabrasive sponge, scrub the glass and rinse it with vinegar.

this looks to be porcelain slab- will be pricier than tile, but a nice clean look- comes in many colors
