where did you place the seam in the island?

The island is seamed down the middle. It is sequential cut slabs so they are book matched.

The shelves were built by us. The main shelf is about 13" deep and 1 1/2" deep and with a 1" or so skirt along the bottom edges. This allows for the LED tape under counter lights to be hidden.

Yes I believe this one does. Most of our large islands do.

You have been so kind to answer questions. The kitchen is beautiful and inspirational! In fact, we used a very similar style island in our remodel. Our island is 149" long, & we are struggling with countertops. How did you place the seam so that it wouldn't be noticeable? Thank you for your time.

Thanks so much. I checked their website and didn't see them. Perhaps they were discontinued? If you find out that they weren't purchased there, I would love it if you could let me know. I am very interested in them for my new lake house. Thanks again.

The hood cover was made from wood and it has a good liner I think by Ventahood. This hood was made by our firm for that client. If you are local we could discuss building one. Thanks Ryan

They were a standard cream color by the cabinet manufacturer. We wanted a softer feel and felt that the off white cream color softened the contrast between the trim and the wall colors.

I am not sure the client purchased those separate from our contract on this job.

Yes that is correct it is 3 cm. this is pretty typical of most slab tops. There are some that 2 cm however but we mostly use the thinner tops in quartz for our more modern projects. I hope that helps.

BlueThis calming color can make even the most chaotic space feel relaxing. But be careful when using it in the kitchen, since blue may be an appetite suppressant. Instead of going overboard with this watery hue, try using it in small doses — on islands, cabinetry or backsplashes. Paint picks: When to Use Blue in the Kitchen

Speaking of charm, check out this incredible kitchen island. Not only is it about the largest one I’ve seen, but it is also very clever to take a traditional piece of furniture and paint it such a fun and whimsical color. Classic, traditional kitchens need not be stuffy. Color is a terrific tool for adding personality.
