Hello. Is there a beam on the top level ? We just built ours exactly except I have been advices there might be some warping overtime and to put a beam over on top. What are your thoughts ?

This pergola is made of wood. During the recent remodel, some pieces were replaced and the entire pergola was re-painted. There are three beams across the top to keep the structure in square.

from reading the comment i see you didnt install the pergola but i was just curious if it was all built from alumawood or not? I like the modern feel it has compared to the standard alumawood designs

This pergola is made from all natural wood. Alumawood is great because it does not deteriorate like natural wood. You can also use a combination of real wood and alumawood, depending on the application. We often use light-weight steel for shade structures as they can be fabricated offsite and craned into place.

Fan Model please? There is no protection from the rain?

Hello, I could not find the model number of the fan, but it is an outdoor rated fixture. Where it mounts to the beam of the pergola, we have a round piece of wood made about 2" large in diameter than the fan canopy made so that water would not leak into the canopy housing. Look at Lamps Plus for outdoor fans, great selection and great prices.

Great mid-century trellis Materials can be determined for durability, but natural wood obviously sings to this style
