Was the textile stretched across a frame? And is the textile available for purchase?

I wouldn't say that there are any particular rules per se but you have to find the right balance between old and new. We have a federal settee but we used a modern velvet on it. The chairs are vintage and we opted for a tight wool so that they were updated but still held true to the lines of them. We added playful and fun throw pillow fabrics in a variety of textures and patterns that feel more youthful or young if you will. The embroidery on the drapery is a classic and the geometric and coral stools are again a bit more modern trad. I am able to play with patterns the way others can play a piano. I just can so it's hard for me to try and explain the rules that I follow - I tend to just know.

    7. Hang long draperies. Floor-length drapes evoke the grandeur of five-star hotels and stately homes. Look online for companies that can make budget curtains on demand. Pair with a pretty chandelier to ramp up the manor-house vibe. And dare to choose a patterned material, as shown here, to provide an eye-catching effect.Discover how to choose the right curtains
