Suburban New Home RemodelContemporary Kitchen, Toronto

The kitchen was previously a small builder's standard oak kitchen. The wall between the kitchen and family room was removed. The breakfast nook became part of the kitchen space. The ceramic tile was replaced with matching hardwood to family room to create a smooth flow.

Thank you! I would stick with this floor colour, if I had it all to do again! :) It's very warm and forgiving....especially if you have children or pets.

Ohhh I love these stools. Not sure there these are from. We sell bar stools that are different than these but would fit well with this style. They can be customized as well. We can do a clear coat with a white leather. Our options are very fun! I've attached a picture below.

That looks like a waterborne finish and gloss over oak. It also looks site finished. Let me know if you have any other flooring questions. joel@oakandbroad.com

Thank you....I would colour match the two whites in your setting, but a monochromatic scheme usually works!

Thank you! The backsplash is actually a porcelain tile, chosen to mimic marble in a more cost-effective and practical solution.

Do you think we should use Cloud White with out current counter tops?

Thanks for your question...I'm not sure what your countertops, flooring, or cabinetry are, but cloud white is a beautiful warm white that works with mostly anything. The cabinetry in the kitchen is painted Cloud White. I would suggest that you purchase the sample can and paint the board. Look at it and all lights to see if it works in your application. Good luck!

Cloud white can look much creamier in different lights. This room utlized a lot of halogen lighting and is bathed in natural sunlight. Also, this was an enamel paint that was used, which also changes the colour, ever so slightly.

Cloud White can be very deceptive....especially with different lighting. This property faced east. The lighting was mostly halogen, but is bathed in natural light, as well. Last, but not least....this is a enamel paint. Hope this helps!

Hi David... Thanks for your question. Angled upper cabinets are not often used, anymore..... But they could still have their place in the right setting.
As for the hand scraped maple, it depends on the style of cabinet door and what you pair it with.
If you are considering a kitchen renovation, I suggest you book a consult with a qualified kitchen designer in your area, to review material selection

            Hello

thank you for your help. the cabinets will be a shaker style. white for the cabinets and grey for the island. I may be putting tile in the kitchen as it is more durable than hardwood.

contemplating changing the sliding door to a french or garden door. is this a good move.
