Stanton also makes an indoor-outdoor sisal-look-alike in a color called nutmeg which looks similar and can be bound with either serged edge or fabric 2.5" border. I am doing it on my stairs in my beach house.

It is a "curved" stair. A "spiral" stair will generally have a center pole that the treads go around. A curved stair is custom made to the particular measurements of each house. We take measurements and then design a curved stair for that house that meets all local building codes. This one looks to have rotation of over 180 degrees. In my region the stair alone, not including the railing and balusters would be approximately $6-$8k installed. That's just ballpark. No paint or staining included either.

What is the carpet runner here?

How has this Sisal runner held up on a curved staircase? I am trying to achieve this exact look for a client of mine, but my carpet installer has some major concerns about installing sisal in this application from an unraveling standpoint as well as a clean-ability standpoint. I am struggling to find alternative options to achieve this same look without using a banded Sisal, and would really appreciate if you have an advice or feedback about how this has held up or solutions to achieve this look without using a woven carpet. Thank you!

I prefer Seagrass - sisal does stain.
