The Passage Beach Style Hall, Boston

Before Siemasko + Verbridge got their hands on this house, it was a convoluted maze of small rooms and skinny hallways. The renovation made sense of the layout, and took full advantage of the captivating ocean views. The result is a harmonious blend of contemporary style with classic and sophisticated elements. The “empty nest” home is transformed into a welcoming sanctuary for the extended family of kids and grandkids.

Thanks for your question Louisemhammer! Unfortunately, we don't have the name of the final color that was chosen. Most likely it was by Benjamin Moore.

The dark wall paint is Farrow & Ball - Mouse's Back No. 40.

As a reminder, colors are very difficult to replicate. There are many variables that change the tone and look of the actual color, such as lighting and its surroundings. Even your computer screen and the photography of this room can change the appearance of the actual color. We always recommend hiring a color professional or visiting your local Benjamin Moore store to help choose the best color for your space.

Thanks for your questions. These were existing doors that were refinished for this project.

The wife is a children's librarian and the husband travels a lot, so building in storage for lots of books and creating cozy spaces where she could nestle up when home alone were top priorities. This image gives you a good idea of the aforementioned passage. "From the kitchen you pass through the pantry, a sitting room, the living room and the dining room to arrive on the porch through this series of glass doors," Verbridge says.
Laura Gaskill added this to Interior Glass Doors Shine as Stars of the Flow
Double your French door dose for better flow. Many older Victorian and colonial homes are made up of lots of small rooms, which can be less than ideal for the flow of our modern lifestyle. One way to improve flow is by moving the doorways, creating an enfilade with facing French doors. Just be sure to get professional advice before beginning work if your plan includes demolishing parts of existing walls.
