The surface mount light was from Schoolhouse Electric, we love the stripes!

Everything ties together so well in this mudroom. I love how the rug brings that splash of color -- can you please share the vendor info?

Greetings! It all depends on the vibe, some people want expansion and contraction and make the interior feel older and less perfect. So depends on what fits your need. We mostly do fresh clean shiplap, nickel gap or 1/4". WE do it in MDF of poplar wood that should be very stable. I've never done it in cheap pine (DIY'ers do all the time to keep cost down). Our builders always pre prime all the boards and even one coat of finish before installing too. That way once installed they get one coat and if the boards move around to expand and contract you won't see unfinished wood! All the cost is in the prep!

Thanks! The master bedroom is an antique rug, one of a kind. The Living Room one is still available and your welcome to email me with the size you need and I can check current pricing and availability for you!

Can you be more specific ? We don't have layered rugs in this image, so I am not sure what you mean!

2. In the mudroom. A mudroom is a hardworking transitional space, but that doesn’t mean it has to lack style. Take a cue from this modern-farmhouse-style home and upgrade your mudroom with shiplap walls and built-in cubbies. A pair of paint-dipped stools and a striped light fixture add to the charm.See the rest of this modern farmhouse

The homeowners knew they wanted shiplap in the mudroom entry, and Connor Homes designed the convenient locker-like millwork. Crestin helped with paint selection, lighting and the tiles, which are ceramic but resemble bluestone. “Using predominantly bronze lighting was an early decision that we repeat throughout the home,” Crestin says. “When you’re trying to tie a home together, repetition is your friend.” She landed on dark bronze because it’s up to date, and works well with modern farmhouse style and the kinds of industrial touches that the husband likes. The lighting played a big role in creating continuity throughout the house.Shiplap wall, trim, ceiling and cabinetry paint: White Dove, Benjamin Moore; sconces: Visual Comfort; ceiling light: Schoolhouse Electric & Supply Co.; baskets: West Elm
