Streamline Interiors, LLC - The tray ceiling became more of a focal point by using a metallic paint, adding crown molding and a chandelier medallion.

This beautiful light filled dining room is graced by two large glass icicle chandeliers and a metallic cork wallpapered ceiling. The stunning Caracole dining table features golden accents and seats up to 10 guests. Custom drapery flanks both sides of the oval dining room, while a custom Alex Turco art piece echoes all of the neutral colors in the room. The dining room is both opulent and inviting, offering a beautiful space for hours of dining and conversation.

The proportions of the original dining furniture were good but the finishes and shapes felt tired. That and the rusty red walls felt wrong for what our client was hoping to see. We changed the floors to pale wood-look tile and moved to a more transitional style of furniture. The magnificent chandelier by Kelly Wearstler set the elegant and clean tone for the whole space

The dining room is particularly jewel-like, with gold-leaf ceiling and an 18th century Italian chandelier suspended from a starburst plaster medallion. Shimmering effects are enhanced by a crackled porcelain wall covering inspired by Chinese celadon ceramic ware. Timothy chose a silk woven damask in a contemporary design for dining room draperies and trimmed them with traditional tassel fringe. “I was trying to achieve classic design with a twist. It is classic and traditional, but there is a freshness as well about the whole house.” Corrigan says. The chairs designed by Billy Haines are covered in Clarence House coral velvet. With the original tray ceiling being a dominant feature in this space we decided to add a luxurious damask wall covering to make the room more elegant. The abstract rug adds a touch of modernity. Host and hostess chairs were custom-made for the project.

Photos are of one of our customers' finished project. We did over 90 beams for use throughout their home :) When choosing beams for your project, there are many things to think about. One important consideration is the weight of the beam, especially if you want to affix it to your ceiling. Choosing a solid beam may not be the best choice since some of them can weigh upwards of 1000 lbs. Our craftsmen have several solutions for this common problem. One such solution is to fabricate a ceiling beam using veneer that is "sliced" from the outside of an existing beam. Our craftsmen then carefully miter the edges and create a lighter weight, 3 sided solution. Another common method is "hogging out" the beam. We hollow out the beam leaving the original outer character of three sides intact. (Hogging out is a good method to use when one side of the beam is less than attractive.) Our 3-sided and Hogged out beams are available in Reclaimed or Old Growth woods.
