Updated Modern Jewel boxContemporary Home Theater, Calgary

The business end of this state of the art Home Theater. The screen is the latest - 2:35 aspect (anamorphic), constant height and uses a high resolution projector to project the huge image with no black bars. Check out the Blu-ray movies cover art displayed on the screen. A kaleidescape movie/music server allows them to watch any movie they want at the absolute highest quality. K&W Audio - it's great when a plan comes together.

The projector is a JVC DLA-X95R with a Schneider 2:35 Anamorphic lens on a power slide. That combination gives the best high resolution image on this 2:35 widescreen, and the best image in every other aspect ratio.

You are welcome. We've recently upgraded it again - swapping out al of the speakers for new Martin Logan Electrostatics, and upgraded the projector to the latest Laser offering form Epson. The Projector mount is now on the back wall - and it's painted Ferrari red! It really looks cool. We will have to add a couple of shots of the update!

155" diagonal. The image is 60.3/4 Inches high by 142 1/2 inches wide - not including the masking. Total width with the black masking is 152 3/4 inches.

The Posters came from a movie poster shop here in Calgary. The company is no longer around but I am sure if you searched the internet there would be other places selling these exact images. We then had the posters dry mounted.

You are looking at the Kaleidescape product GUI. Each movie shown is legally ripped uncompressed Blu-ray content on a large hard drive. It's state of the art in movie and music servers.

Great question! It's a 2:25 aspect constant height curved masking screen from Stewart Filmscreen. It currently has an Epson LS10000 projector with a Panamorph DC1 lens on a power sled. The anamorphic lens really adds to the sharpness and overall image quality.

I've been in it quite a few times and it's fantastic. In fact we just upgraded the projector and a couple of other items a few weeks ago. It now has a laser Epson projector which is even brighter and now 4K compatible. No worries with the image being too big (before or after the update) - but it is a massive image from the seating position. 3D is especially emersive. I know there are lots of opinions on how large a screen should be - but I think this theater illustrates that as long as it's fed a high quality source - go as big as you can!

The screen the Stewart Filmscreen brand, and is both curved and power masking. It mounts to the wall on included wood cleats. So the curved area you see is the screen and masking the area behind it is the wall - painted drywall. The screen itself is surrounded by about a 4 inch mask of very deep black velvet.

Tt is a fixed mount, but the screen has motorized masks that come out from the sides to frame the image correctly depending of the film's original aspect ratio.
