Upper Reading RoomRustic Family Room

Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains.

    Hi Brittany,
I am not an interior designer but my house have wood trims just like your cabin. We are still using the temporary paper blinds like the ones in your photo. The only difference is that I take out the screen and stick the paper directly on the glass. This way, it wouldn't cover any of the woodwork around the windows. Of course it's just a temp solution and I am still researching the right window coverings.

Wouldn't that be misrepresentation? No, you may not use this photo to represent your home and you may not use it on your facebook page.

As you can see, the walls capture the built in bed which makes this much more cozy. If you measure your bed and add a minimum of 16" to 20" each side for the sloped back and shelf you should be able to do this. Keep in mind if you build walls out to capture the bed it dosent inhibit your circulation. Good luck.

                        13. Early afternoon on Saturday after yard work or a hike. Certainly there’s a great blanket tucked in one of those drawers. Enjoy the view with something by an author who celebrates nature — perhaps A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson; Wild, by Cheryl Strayed; or something transcendental. Bring warm cider and some oatmeal cookies. Keep an Audubon guide to birds handy in case you want to ID any feathered friends outside the window.
