does the pergola slope towards the home...it looks like it from the photos, I wouls worry about drainage and runoff.

How is the beam attached to the post. I am building something very similar and want to go with a thick front beam on a 6x6 cedar post. Have you used some sort of simpson ties? Or just bolted them down from the top? Thanks

    Hello michikolenz,

The stain on the Pergola is called Hawthorne by Sherwin Williams. Thank you for your interest.

Hi tdaburton! It is hard to provide exact dimensions because of the shape of this space, but it is approximately 26' x 25' at it's widest points. Hope this helps!

Hi Linda - thank you for your question! This pergola was made using 2x8 Cedar joists and 1x2 upper shade lath. The double joists as well as the spacing of the shade lath were decisions that we made with the help of our clients. The reason was both aesthetic and for increased shade. There is a portion of the structure that is dried-in (waterproof) in which we used standing seam metal in place of the shade lath. Hope this helps!

Can you send me a picture of what the top of the pergola looks like. I would like something like this but if I cover the top so it can be used if it rains, there will be no sunlight in my house, no?

In response to your question regarding sunlight, yes, by roofing in any pergola structure you do limit the amount of natural light that is allowed in to your home. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your interest! We have this copy of the rendering, hope it helps! As you can see the far side of the pergola is slightly sloped, but the close side in the picture is not.
