Passiflora Mollissima is generally hardy in USDA hardiness zones 9-11. I entered the zip code you posted onto www.planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/. You are in zone 9b, which is fine for the plant. In a shady location, the Passiflora will grow but will have less flowers. I have a Passiflora 'Panda' growing in the shade and it gets a few flowers in the summer. So you can grow it where you want, but you won't get many flowers/fruit.

You're welcome! If you are trying to find a Passiflora variety that tolerates shade I would go with Passiflora Sanguinolenta or Passiflora 'Witchcraft'. You can find them both on http://www.logees.com/.
