Love the floor tile! Could you tell me the make/model?

I think the sanding guy said that the original floors from the 1920s were not sanded and were worn smooth over time by use. And really in this bath floor it was only a few pokey edges where 4 tiles met unevenly that presented toe stubbing opportunities.

    Got it. And thanks!

American Olean. The green "spearmint" color is discontinued in some sizes, maybe all sizes.
  • Elaine Yastishock

You can still order it from American Olean in all sizes. Now it is only "made to order" but you can get it. We are basically copying this bathroom for our bathroom remodel. We found the same tile through American Olean and are getting the same floor through American Restoration Tile. It's been very smooth going all the way around so far. : )

Tub "telephone" style wall mount spout + handshower is Newport Brass "Chesterfield" in polished nickel. Shower head is Kohler Flipside multi-function with a separate pressure balance control for temp/volume.

I'm sorry, I don't know. The client purchased it herself.

  • Vera P

What is the brand of the wall lighting fixtures? They are beautiful.

The console sink (legs, top and undermount sink) is the Kohler Kathryn width 42 x depth 22. An inset cabinet could work well if the 3 - 4" are critical to meet code requirements.

Who makes the floor in this bathroom?

- Is this a pattern available anywhere?

  • jenniess

One more question - do you know of any other similar floor tiles?

  • Erin Tomlinson

    Try American Olean.

Hi! Love the design. Was it a big hassle moving the toilet to its new

  • PRO

The largest construction cost in a bathroom renovation is generally moving the toilet waste stack so I always start the design with the toilet in the existing location. When that doesn't work in the design I move it. The hassle/cost of moving it depends on which direction the floor joists are running and whether the toilet is being moved within one of the bays (easier) or across (reframing the floor because you can't cut through the floor support without framing additional support). I move a toilet only when I am gutting the walls, floors and ceiling down to the studs.

The 6x6 wall tile is from American Olean and the green color Spearmint is discontinued. The floor tile is unglazed porcelain mosaic and I do not recommend the company who made it. They were very difficult to work with and the tile was delivered way after the promise date.

  • Elaine Yastishock

See my comment on the other question. (The American Olean color isn't discontinued, only limited to made-to-order..)

American Restoration Tile: So sorry to hear about Mr. Byrd's illness and passing. I can certainly understand how that situation would have impacted his business. If anyone could have said something even vague about the owner having "health issues" it would have gone a long way toward explaining what was going on. My condolences to you and your family.

Sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Byrd. Respectfully, for anyone who may be interested in an alternative product, Heritage Tile manufactures similar custom mosaics that require no sanding with a typical lead time of 2-3 weeks.

Do you know the brand of floor tile and if there is anywhere it is carried? Also did you use American Olean black tile also?

  • Elaine Yastishock

The floor tile is from American Restoration Tile
    Office: (501) 455.1000

And yes, we used American Olean for the black tile as well to keep things consistent.

Yes, 6x6 gloss ceramic tile from American Olean. Color spearmint has been discontinued. Dal Tile might have a similar color.

So sorry for the delay in responding. Floor tile grout = TEC sanded 934 DeLorean Gray. Wall tile grout = TEC unsanded 931 Standard White.
