What Houzz contributors are saying:
Here is a common condition in a smaller room with lots of big windows. Don’t be afraid to pull the furniture away from the walls. This classic arrangement makes a small room feel larger, with many seats for guests to choose from. Notice the ottoman in lieu of a coffee table. A tray provides a hard surface for flowers or drinks. The curtains have a natural place to fall since furniture is pulled away from the walls.
Arched windows can be difficult to frame with standard drapery rods, but shorter versions in this space work beautifully. They allow for continuation of the drapery panels that dress the single window, yet aren't so long that they appear monolithic.
Make a big statement with a room screen. Artwork is great, but it can get lost in a corner like this one. If your corner has a case of the blahs, add height, dimension, texture and geometry by angling a room screen there.
