Waterfront Deck Living - the Grotto - Retaining Wall with a PurposeBeach Style Patio, Seattle

This space (called the Grotto) below the upper deck provides a place to relax and entertain friends. Move the table under the cover for a waterfront dining experience. The lumber is tight knot cedar with a Penofin finish.

It was a lot of fun creating this space with the homeowners.

The light roof brightens up the underneath, it would be nice to have something retractable? It doesn't have to be automated.

A built in napping place would be awesome... maybe a place for a good cot or swinging chair?
