Inspiration for a timeless kitchen remodel in Atlanta with a farmhouse sink, beaded inset cabinets, white cabinets and wood countertops

West Indies Meets Lowcountry

Traditional Kitchen, Atlanta

In the morning kitchen that connects the two guest suites, painted buttboard walls and a tongue-and-groove ceiling create a comfortable atmosphere of informality. Simple cabinetry, a farmhouse sink, heart pine countertops, and a plate rack with distressed beadboard backing impart more rural charm. The room's long, narrow shape, wall-to-wall windows, and exposed rafters recall the open air breezeways that inspired it. Photography: Richard Leo Johnson | Atlantic Archives

Hello, @Palmer. The countertops are heart pine planks, finished with a Polyurethane finish. You might also check out this article from a popular blogger on a product she has used on wood counters. http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2012/11/bathroom-countertops-are-in/

Hi, I am wondering what type of wood floor is buy the hall doors. Is it 1 and 3/4" wide Oak? Is there a retail floor outlet that sells this narrow width of flooring. We live in a historic house with similar flooring, but can't seem to locate a flooring store that carries this narrow of flooring. Thanks much.
