Thank you, ruihomes. The railings were manufactured by Sturdi Iron here in the Chicago area. The custom cabinetry is by KWI Cabinetry, also here in Chicago.

What an observant question! That is basically a big step. There are a couple of reasons we did that: the space where the stairs lead is just a small storage loft for the client's art collection; as the space is rarely accessed, we wanted to create a spatial barrier. Also, we wanted to make it a little bit difficult for the family's (then 4 year old) child to get up there. Thanks for the great question!

Hi. That's a very interesting question. I guess we never realized how concrete these cabinets actually look! The material of this cabinetry is a custom gray stain on birch plywood with a matte finish. Birch plywood is a great looking material and we thought this stain would make a nice contrast with the floor and timber elements in the ceiling. Thanks for the question!

Thank you for the really great architectural question! The height of the top landing is about 9'-0". The distance from the face of the cabinet to the window is just over 10'-0". If you have a similar condition but the space is a bit tight, you could always add a couple risers in a winder where we have that big bottom step. Contact us if you need anything more specific!

Carole! We are so pleased you like this! You are correct: there are a couple wood stringers hidden in there somewhere (if you open that left cabinet door, you can see it). The material you see is all birch plywood with a custom gray stain. The treads and risers are the same material. Thanks for the question!

Hi the stairs and cabinets are amazing. I'm trying to accomplish this same look. Could you please tell me the materials and paint colors used to achieve it? Thanks so much.

Hello, emilyiaolson. Thank you for the compliment! We enjoyed working on this project enormously. Since this project was completed a few years ago, I have had to go back through our records and I'm afraid the answer is not completely clear. BUT, I think I can point you in the right direction. I can definitely tell you the duct is Benjamin-Moore 2063-70 Cumulus Cotton. The wall is either 2123-40 Gossamer Blue OR 2123-50 Ocean Air. Hopefully that points you in the right direction. Get back with us if you need more info. Thanks!

I really like the stair railing. Are these metal wires? Can you please tell me where I can get these?
