@21225s most fabrics attract dust, lint, etc. it's just more visible on darker fabrics of course. but nothing that can't be easily picked up with a lint glove or roller ;)

i guess you have to decide what's more important to you. the look, or the maintenance. but boy, the royal blue look is so fabulous, i would go for it ;)

@21225s I bought the couch from sofa.com who were amazing and took the sofa back. It actually went back as it was very uncomfortable, but the marks were just too much to live with. It was velvet and yes everything clings to that fabric, yes I do have a dog, who has always sat on the furniture, so difficult to stop her. It was a big mistake as it was for our tv room not formal lounge. It gets a lot of use and although it looked beautiful it drove me nuts!

Hello, I am sooo in love with this sectional and area rug! If possible, do you know where I could purchase either item from. If not, can you tell what color the sectional is?

    Thanks so much!

    Ashley,
Sectional can be purchased through our store, Vintage Scout Interiors. The fabric is discontinued, however we could find one similar; it's navy. The rug is from West Elm. If you'd like more information, email us at info@vintagescout.com

What are the curtains made of? And are there blinds on the windows underneath?

The drapery is a Duralee fabric available through Vintage Scout Interiors. Yes, there are also roman shades, as the panels are just decorative. The shades are operable for privacy. For more information, feel free to email us at info@vintagescout.com

Angelica, I have yet to find reasonably priced non-adjustable metal rods. We ordered these through a trade source. Contact us at info@vintagescout.com if you'd like specific information using your measurements.

Those are original vintage subway destination roll signs that we framed. We purchased the whole cartridge on ebay. We were able to get 6 out of it. I've seen reproductions around, but nothing beats the real thing.

5. As multiple thin panels. A bank of two or more windows presents a prime opportunity for maximum customization of a space. The bold sofa, fun pillows and graphic chevron rug certainly gush with personality in this living room, but the window treatments are the element that turns an otherwise bland wall into a stellar patterned feature. With multiple side-by-side windows, virtually any window treatment arrangement is possible. The four-panel arrangement is particularly appealing in rented spaces, which are so often bereft of unique architectural features and arresting views.

In the living room, with white walls. A navy sofa works as a bold neutral in this fresh, modern living room. The graphic black and white rug, white walls and glass and brass coffee table alone would have felt crisp; the printed yellow curtains create a more relaxed vibe.

Add a large piece of colorful furniture. Wrap the largest piece of furniture in your room in color. Forget about a neutral sofa; bring in a happy colorful upholstered sofa. Or change up your current sofa by reupholstering or adding a slipcover.

Blue and yellow. Blue pairs beautifully with so many colors. Here, navy and yellow (along with a zesty floor pattern) are looking very chic. I can only assume that Rodarte and Oscar de la Renta concur. Achieving a similar look is simple; one big gesture will go a long way. Changing your rug or drapes will made a dramatic difference without a full room overhaul.

Choose drapery in complementary colors. Nothing will make your dark furniture bounce back to life than pairing it with complementary colors. Deep blues and purples sofas will pop against oranges and yellows, as proven by this sofa paired with yellow floral drapery.

Need a sectional but afraid of it feeling like one? Leave it to navy blue to make a sectional feel dressed for a party. Crate and Barrel has a rich navy high pile microfiber upholstery for their lounge 3-Piece sectional.

Rooms that mix two distinct prints can be visually dynamic. Here is a room that does just this through floral drapery panels that are mixed with a large scale zigzag rug.

Blue velvet sofa and black and white rug--we have that black and white settee so this color scheme is intriguing.
