How to Fix Excel Image Format in Tracker Exports

When you download and open your Selections Tracker report in Excel, you may notice that the images appear distorted or squished and don't change when the cell height or width is adjusted. Unfortunately this has to do with the way that the external application manipulates the images to be viewed in Excel — it's not something we have control over on the Houzz Pro side. However, we do have a few options to help you quickly reformat the images so that they will adjust with the cells as you resize them.
Open in Google Drive
If you work with the Google Suite and can open the Excel file as a Google spreadsheet, the previously mentioned image distortion does not occur. This is a great workaround if you are open to using Google spreadsheets instead of Excel. It requires an extra step to upload your Excel file to Google Drive, but once you open the spreadsheet in Google Sheets you will see the images without any distortion, as shown below.

Format Images in Excel
If Excel is your go-to tool, you can change one of the picture settings on your file so that when you adjust column width or row height, the images will move and resize in sync with your cell adjustments. Note that this does not solve the distortion issue — you will still need to make adjustments the cells to achieve your desired image format. Here's how:
- Open your downloaded tracker report in Excel
- Select the image(s) you want to adjust (you can select multiple images to apply this setting one time).
- Double-click the image(s) to open the Picture Format settings.
- Click on the Size & Properties tab, then expand the Properties section to reveal the settings.
- Click the 'Move and size with cells' property. When this is enabled, the images attached to the cells will resize accordingly when you adjust the cell height or width.
- Now you can make changes to column width and row height and the images will resize with the cells instead of remaining unchanged.
