How to Use the Lead Questionnaire

When a potential client contacts you about a project, sending a lead questionnaire will help you capture all the important details needed to better understand the project scope.

The lead questionnaire is a quick way to get relevant questions answered so you have all the information you need to determine if the project is right for you. Currently, you can't create custom questions, but you can select which questions to include in the questionnaire to make it more tailored toward your business.

If you have a website built by Houzz, you can embed the form into your site as well.

Access Lead Questionnaire

You can access the lead questionnaire in both the main leads list, as well as in an individual lead.

From Leads List:

1. Click on the Leads icon in your left-hand menu.

2. From here, click on Actions at the top right of your lead list. A lead questionnaire dropdown will appear where you can View and Edit, Email or Copy Link.

From Individual Lead:

1. Hover over the Leads icon in your left-hand menu. Select the relevant lead from the left menu, or select the specific lead from the leads list.

2. From the Quick Create menu at the top of your lead page, click the Questionnaire option. A dropdown will appear where you can select View and Edit Questionnaire, Email Questionnaire, or Copy Questionnaire Link.

Edit Lead Questionnaire

If you want to edit the questions included in the lead questionnaire before sending, select View and Edit from either the leads list or the individual lead page.

A new window will appear where you can preview the questionnaire format. If you would like to make changes to what is included, click on Edit Form at the top of your screen.

A new section will appear on the right side of your screen. This is the edit mode for the questionnaire. Here, you can customize the introduction text, turn on and off specific questions, and adjust the confirmation title and text that's shown at the end of the questionnaire.

To remove a question from the questionnaire, turn the toggle off to the right of the question. When the question is turned off, the text will fade and no longer appear in the numbered question list. You can easily add it back in by turning the toggle on.

Please Note: At this time, you are not able to customize the text in the question or add your own custom questions.

After you make changes to your questionnaire, but sure to click Save at the top of your screen.

You can now see your adjustments in Preview mode and make more changes if needed.

Send Lead Questionnaire

Once you have customized your lead questionnaire, share with a potential client by selecting Email or Copy Link from either the leads list or the individual lead page.

If you select Email Questionnaire, the questionnaire will automatically attach to a email in your messages section. You can also manually attach it by selecting the questionnaire icon next to the link icon in the email toolbox.

If you would like to review and edit the questionnaire before sending, click the Preview and Edit option to the right of the attached document.

Within the email, you can type in a custom subject line and message. If you would like to preview the email before sending, select Preview in the bottom right.

Once it's ready to go, click Send Email.

If you select Copy Questionnaire Link, the link will automatically copy over so you can paste it into a separate email to share with your potential client.

Review Completed Lead Questionnaire

Once your potential client completes the questionnaire, you will receive an email notification, as well as receive a notification and new message within Houzz Pro.

Within the messages section for that specific lead, you can view their replies to help decide if you want to move forward with the project.
