Plan a Room on One Platform 

Combining workspace and presentation features, the Room Planner takes design pros from concept to client approval in one space. Fill your blank Room Planner canvas with all the products included in your design, import a Mood Board or 3D Floor Plan, images from your library and any project-related documents, such as the contract. Add  3D Floor Plans directly to your Room Plan right from the sidebar. You can also choose to add clipped products directly to a Room Plan. You, team members and clients can include messages on various furniture pieces, for example, then gather feedback and get approval. All the while, use the budget tracker to keep everyone informed on how the product choices impact the bottom line. 

We’ve made Room Planner even better with enhancements that let you choose the sizing of the items you add - small, medium, and large. In the Activity Stream, you can see every time your client viewed the Room Plan and you will receive an email the first time they view it. And it's even easier to drag and drop images to rearrange your  Room Plan to make a compelling visual for your clients or showcase the the products you want them to focus on first. You can quickly navigate between rooms in the same project without needing to go back to the room plans list.

Want your client to focus on just one aspect of the design, such as what items are awaiting approval? When you share the Room Plan with them, you can customize the viewing settings by pricing, other details and approvals. And in addition to sharing the plan through the Client Dashboard within Houzz Pro, you can export it as a PDF or download it as tear sheets.

With Room Planner, there is no more hunting down design files, spreadsheets, and images in multiple locations, and no more coordinating across different platforms.

Professional Proposals, Simplified 

It is now easier than ever to create professional-looking proposals quickly so you can deliver them to clients more quickly and have more time to spend on the design work you love. Now you can right click on a proposal to duplicate a line item, add a line item above or below an existing item, convert items into documents, move items between groups, and more. 

Add custom signatures, edit column names and drag them wherever you want with just a click or two. Pull products from your custom sourcing library to send beautifully branded proposals that include product images which make it easy for your clients to say yes. Then, give your clients the convenience of reviewing and approving the proposals online. 

Capture Every Design Nuance  

The more specifics clients can see to envision the design you envision for their home, the more it will come to life for them. Reduce the rounds of client feedback with realistic plans thanks to 3D Floor Planner and the Life-Sized Walkthroughs feature. Using Augmented Reality, the feature conveys everything from the overall sense to the tiniest design details in an authentic way. 

And now, create designs that are more detailed than ever. With LiDAR room scanning available for LIDAR equipped mobile devices, you can add the most nuanced details to your furniture, fixtures and more. Choose from custom paint colors and metal finishes, design arched wall openings with the height of your choice, and create kitchen backsplashes. For bathrooms, add tile patterns and textures whether it is glass mosaic, polished marble or unique handmade selections. Pros can tap into an even wider variety of bathroom products to add virtually to their designs, selecting from the many vanities, showers, and sinks available in the Houzz Shop.

Pro Advice: For Jennifer Messina, owner of Dreamlike Design, nudging her clients to a place where they wouldn’t have reached on their own is part of her design process. “My passion is to help take a client’s ideas and vision and stretch them” she says. Using the Houzz Pro 3D Floor Planner to back up her creative process, she gives clients a detailed, scaled plan of the space. “They love it, and so do I,” she says. “Being able to do the mockups using the 3D Floor Planner is helpful for us to “walk through” the spaces (in Dollhouse Mode) and view details like the ceiling height, window placements, and the access points for furnishings. Plus, it’s extremely user friendly for a non-computer person like myself,” she says.

Detailed Schedules for Every Project Stage 

We’ve also introduced new features to the Project Timeline tool in Houzz Pro which helps interior designers map out project schedules, track progress and visually communicate plans to everyone involved. With easy-to-create Gantt charts, you can organize projects and ensure the entire team has everything they need to carry them out.

Design pros can now also add activities and sub-activities, create dependencies among them, write detailed descriptions and assign specific tasks to team members. Activities can be connected using dependencies, indicating when the start of one activity relies on the completion of another so you can create detailed schedules for each stage of a design project.
