Everything You Need to Know About the Best of Houzz Awards
A new landing page offers key details about the awards, including how to become eligible and tips for winning

With the announcement of the Best of Houzz 2022 awards coming soon, Houzz is launching a new educational page that answers questions about the awards program, available to our professional community.
The landing page will offer an up-to-date, go-to guide for everything you need to know about the program and how to become eligible for an award in the Design, Service and Photography categories.
Here’s a peek at what’s available to you on the new Best of Houzz page.

Winning a Best of Houzz award is a good way to gain credibility and promote your design or construction business. Having the award badge appear on your professional Houzz profile and business website shows potential clients that your business has been recognized by the Houzz community of more than 65 million homeowners and home design enthusiasts for the quality of your work or customer service.
All professionals with a pro profile on Houzz are eligible to win Best of Houzz awards. Consideration is automatic and based on existing profiles, overall ratings and customer reviews. There is no cost to be considered.
Best of Houzz badges are given in three categories: Design, Service and Photography. A badge on a profile means that the Houzz community has left positive reviews for the professional, has saved photos from the pro to an ideabook or both.
Slightly more than 3% of Houzz’s 2.7 million active home professionals win Best of Houzz awards each year.
The Best of Houzz Design awards celebrate home professionals whose work was most popular among the Houzz community in the previous year, as shown by user engagement and ideabook saves.

The Best of Houzz Service awards recognize pros who provide great service to their customers. They’re based on several factors, including a pro’s overall rating on Houzz and client reviews submitted during the award-period year.
Best of Houzz winners receive a full promotional kit to help them get the most exposure for their award, including high-resolution badge images to use in marketing materials.

The Best of Houzz Photography awards honor architecture and interior design photographers. They’re awarded for the most popular images among the Houzz community during the previous year, as shown by user engagement and ideabook saves.
Dave Spetrino, seen here in the center, and his firm, PBC Design + Build, have earned a Best of Houzz award every year since the program began in 2012. “It was a validation that our work mattered, what we were doing mattered and the people we trusted, the people that we saw having the most credibility, saw the same in us,” Spetrino says.

Best of Houzz “helps with brand recognition,” says Georgia designer Lina Norell, who won a Best of Houzz Service award in 2021. “It helps when people are searching for designers.”
“I would say the Best of Houzz award means that we’re credible and we’re professionals,” says kitchen and bath designer Mark Ashton of Ashton Renovations, which has won an award every year since 2014. “People look really highly upon Houzz, so the Best of Houzz award has made a big impact on our business. It’s been very helpful in landing the types of projects and clients we want. Now the projects that we’re planning and designing out, all of those leads came from Houzz.”
