New Houzz Pro Tools Simplify Complex Project Management
Collaboration, budgeting and more just got a lot easier for large building, remodeling and design firms

If your firm handles complex construction or renovation projects, you’re going to appreciate how Houzz Pro’s new features can help you stay on top of your workflow with ease and precision. The tools are the Subcontractor Dashboard, Budgeting, Google Drive integration and Photo Documentation.
“We understand the unique complexities that come with managing large teams, budgets and projects. With the release of these tools, we’re simplifying the process for larger firms, helping them track all the moving pieces of their projects in one place,” Houzz co-founder and CEO Alon Cohen says. “By getting everyone on the same page, Houzz Pro software helps reduce errors and identify potential issues that could impact project timelines and budgets.”

New Features
Subcontractor Dashboard
The Subcontractor Dashboard helps you align with subcontractors at every stage of the project. It gives you the ability to share access to project information that subs need to do their work on time and on budget, including the project schedule, assigned tasks and key files.
Budgeting
The Budget feature lets you compare estimated versus actual costs for a project in real time. It pulls all the estimated costs, actual costs and expenses you track in Houzz Pro into one view, enabling you to quickly assess overall project profitability as well as understand specifically where a project is over or under budget. And when you have a detailed view of estimated versus actual costs, you can build more accurate estimates on future projects. On a cost-plus project, you can choose to share the budget with your clients.
Google Drive Integration
Google Drive integration helps streamline your project and file management, because you can pull files — including estimates, invoices and daily logs — and photos straight from Google Drive into project documents within Houzz Pro. It eliminates the need to download and reupload files, and keeps projects organized by housing everything in one place.
Photo Documentation
The Photo Documentation capability lets you create an organized and easily accessible record of work by saving an unlimited number of photos directly to a project’s daily logs or files and folders section. You can share daily logs with photos internally to track jobsite activity, ensure crew alignment and safeguard against liabilities, as well as share them with clients for transparency about project progress.

More Great Houzz Pro Features
The four new features above join many others that make Houzz Pro a favorite of both interior designers and construction pros. “It makes us run efficiently and helps us make sure we’re not missing anything,” interior designer Trevor Fulmer says of the software. And “it’s very user friendly,” interior designer Diana Bastone enthuses.
Here are a few other tools that make Houzz Pro the top choice for industry professionals.
Online Payments: “How frustrating would it be if you went to a website and you wanted to buy something, but you had to mail in a check for it?” Brad Young, owner of TigerTown Home Improvement, says. With Houzz Pro, customers can conveniently pay online 24/7 via either a credit card or a bank transfer, using their computer or smartphone.
Estimate Builder: “It’s so nice that in the same link, [clients] can access their timeline and approve an estimate,” residential contractor Susan Heinz of The Heinz Group says. Designer Katie Rainey says, “And that we can edit those estimates so easily and resend them if something's not what they want.”
3D Floor Plans: “That’s my favorite view, because I can go in there and lay out the kitchen design with exactly the cabinets and countertops similar to what the client has picked out,” remodeler Lindsay Floyd of Kimber Homes says. “It’s so easy to use, I can do it right on-site with the client. The 3D tool helps us to win jobs.”
Augmented Reality Life-Sized Walkthroughs: “It’s an immersive experience,” design-build pro Danny Wang of DW Development says. You can use your phone and walk around the space to show the new kitchen and newly designed rooms.… It is a game changer.”
Client Dashboard: “Our clients really like it, because they see transparency in numbers, and they can see the value of the design itself,” interior designer Christina Couvillion of Davinci Interiors says. The Client Dashboard lets pros share access to project photos and files, daily project logs, product pricing, timelines and much more.
Time and expense tracking: The tools are “just really easy for us,” interior designer Stephanie Lindsey of Etch Design Group says. “No matter where anyone is or what tasks they’re working on, they can enter their time, and it automatically allows us to pull reports, which help us strategize on our current workload as well as our future pipeline of projects.”
