Renovation is never easy. Finding the right contractor and choosing the right designer can be risky business. Once we enlisted the help of DkB Interiors, it all became that much easier. Diane helped us realize our dream of a Master Bedroom En Suite that rivals a 5-Star spa-like experience in our own home. She hit it out of the park. The feel... the colors, vanity, lighting and tile combination in the Master Bath (w/ steam shower) exceeded expectations. The Master Bedroom... the flow, the fabrics, from bed to window treatments... Diane transformed our living space into exactly what we wanted, a warm, cozy escape. She has exquisite taste and works hard to make your dreams work within a budget. We could not be happier with the results.

The project was to renovate my master bathroom which included gutting and significantly enlarging the shower, a new soaking tub, new sinks with all new tiling and surrounds. The project was completed on time and on budget. Diane presented three plans and all were wonderful. The flooring, tile, and tub and sink surrounds for the option I choose were perfect. Diane was on site for all measuring and deliveries and arranged for me to meet with all the contractors to discuss any issue I had. I am thrilled with the completed project!

We hired Diane to design and manage the renovation of our basement into a guest suite, design our dining room, and help with some smaller projects in the rest of our house (paint selection, carpet and floor stain selection, and window treatments). Diane was extremely professional and responsive from the first email that I sent her. After an initial consultation in our home, which itself was helpful, she created a detailed work plan proposal, budget, and contract. After we signed the contract, she quickly got to work designing our two rooms and working with us on the projects we already had underway (painting and flooring). Whether it was painting paint swatches on the walls or presenting full design boards for an entire room, Diane was hardworking and committed to delivering a finished look that was better than we could have imagined. We met numerous times, and I quickly learned that it was okay to tell her when I didn't like something, and that she would find an alternative; at the same time, she was assertive enough to tell me when my own ideas would work well and when they wouldn't. Besides being a great designer, Diane was a great project manager. She was meticulous in managing the budget, the timeline, and the various vendors and contractors that we used for our projects. She took care of everything- scheduling installation, supervising the work, and troubleshooting problems. When the carpet we bought didn't meet expectations, she managed to negotiate a full refund AND we got to keep the carpet! There were so many people that we worked with on these home projects, and there was no one more reliable and professional than Diane. She made what could have been a stressful process much easier and enjoyable. And, most importantly, our house looks amazing!

We worked with Diane from DKB Interiors to refresh the living room and dining area of our apartment. We had had the same furniture and paint colors for over 10 years and wanted to essentially refresh almost everything, within our budget to transform the space and feel "new to us". Diane's consultative approach was great. She knew the right questions to ask to get enough of a sense of our style without us feeling too pressured to know what we wanted because, we really didn't! She presented us with several different options as it related to fabrics and styles for our new living room furniture (couch, sofa and accompanying pillows), chair, window treatment as well as new lighting, chair fabric and rug for our dining area. Our greatest challenge was often selecting one option based on what she came up with. She stayed within our budget and her ability to negotiate with suppliers is unparalleled! Diane has an amazing eye for color and pulls pieces and patterns together that we never could have imagined on our own. Her innate talent, coupled with her ability to carefully interpret our style resulted in a refresh to our home that we could not be more happy with. We are excited to tackle our next project - master bath renovation - with her!

We hired Diane to help decorate several rooms of our new home. From the moment we met, Diane displayed top level of professionalism. She was always early or on time, got back to our phone calls or emails on the same day, and always followed up on any of our questions with the vendors. She presented us with different concepts and brought over different fabrics and images of furniture. At one point we weren't sure about some furniture pieces, and Diane made time for me to go with her to several places to see the furniture pieces in person. Throughout the project she stayed true to the style that I showed her we liked based on photos on Houzz, and our house looks like it's out of a magazine!

I was very impressed with Diane's knowledge, professionalism and responsiveness. She did a beautiful job offering multiple color schemes and furniture choices based on our initial interview and brought samples that clearly showed that she was listening to my preferences and desires rather than marching forward with her own agenda. Diane was very pleasant to work with and I thought we accomplished a lot in a relatively short period. And best of all, I LOVE MY NEW ROOMS!! Thanks Diane!

I hired Diane Brown of dkb interiors to help me re-do the first floor of my house, and the result is fantastic. From the start, she took the time to get to know me – my style, my likes and dislikes – but she wasn’t afraid to push me to take a look at ideas that I would not have come up with on my own. The end look is traditional, but with fun and interesting accents that really make the most of my space. The project involved both fairly extensive renovation and redecoration. Diane managed every detail of the process, from coming up with the design to hiring the contractor to managing the day-to-day timeline. She ensured that the project stayed on schedule (but was quick to let me know if there were any unforeseen delays), that issues were addressed quickly before they morphed into problems, and that we stayed close to my desired budget. I didn’t have the time to personally oversee the multiple details that a project like this entails, so it was great to have someone that you could count on to do that and act as a liaison between me and the contractor and others involved. I was impressed with the quality and responsiveness of the contractor and his team, and the architect responded quickly and efficiently when we needed changes and adjustments. Diane is very flexible, and accommodated a last minute, fairly extensive change on my part with very little slippage in the overall project. On the design side, she showed the same flexibility, and even when she pushed me to consider something a little different, she never pushed me on something that I was really opposed to. Of course, she can also be very definitive on “do’s” and “don’ts”, but she handled any clashes of opinion with aplomb. I even won one or two! I could not be more pleased with the outcome of my project, and would certainly look to hire her again for other projects.
