About Us

Established in 1982, Alma Gardening is a landscape contractor serving building management companies and individual homeowners. Santiago Gonzalez is the founder of Alma Gardening Co. with 30 + years’ he earned a C27- Landscaping Contractor License in 1982. Gus Gonzalez is the manager, who’s been in the business since the age of fifteen. With over 25 years of experience and has taken many courses in the field to grow his wisdom in irrigation systems, landscaping, outdoor lighting, ponds, and waterfalls.

Gus Gonzalez has worked on many projects for me for over 10 years. He has always been consistently reliable,efficient and takes pride in the excellence of his work. Some projects are- lawn removal and landscaping with a succulent garden. lawn service, tree maintenance and also handyman work eg. bathroom remodel . I highly recommend Gus as a expert professional in his field.

During the drought, we decided to conserve water by replacing the old grass and xeriscaping for the front yard. Gus and his team pulled out the old turf, installed drip systems, new timers, and all the drought resistant plants and ground cover to complete the look. He came in on budget, followed our plans, gave us valuable feedback (he is certified in water management and irrigation systems), and was prompt and responsible in completing all phases of the project, including the follow up whenever issues came up. One last word of advice. If you do a xeriscape project, make sure your regular gardeners know what they're doing. Our old ones killed some plants and blew off a lot of the mulch. I'll have to upload a new picture to show how the front yard looks after the ground cover has filled in.
