Small architectural & interior design firm with emphasis on sustainability, efficient, cost effective design and beautiful details. Our office has been working with many of the same contractors for close to a decade. We only recommend firms that have demonstrated their professional reliability on a number of different projects. My wife and I hired Heike in the fall of 2017 to draft blueprints, schematics, etc. for a complete teardown and renovation of our existing 4 bedroom house in Northern Westchester County, New York. We spent over 6 months vetting architects and could not have been happier with partnering with her for this job. Simply put, everything was outstanding. From the quality of work, resources, communication, experience, foresight, honesty, integrity, and timeliness, our experience was exceptional. I would recommend Heike’s services to anyone looking for architecture work and would not even consider looking elsewhere should we need work done in the future. Heike was an incredible architect and partner on our project. Our house was built in 1844; it had an original, steep & narrow staircase and an out-of-date kitchen that had been slapped onto the back of the house at some point, in place of a porch. Our goals were to move the staircase, update the kitchen, and add a family room & laundry room upstairs - all while making the changes look like they "belonged" to the old house. Heike translated our wishes into a set of plans and then helped usher those plans into fruition by being available and involved every step of the way. She was a great sounding board and advocate. Such a professional -- smart & caring.

Heike is a brilliant architect - technically and aesthetically brilliant. She married the aesthetics that I requested particular to our project with technical know how and attention to detail that made it turn out beautifully. Her quick sketch won over other architects, she came highly recommended by friends, and was easy to communicate with. Our project was to add an accessory apartment by converting an attic space over our 3 car garage in a modern farmhouse Scandinavian style. It was to be as environmentally conscious as possible, with the limit on costs, as some family members have allergy/environmental sensitivities. Considering another project in building a passive / net zero house either in NY or ME and she is the first person I would call to talk concept with.

Heike is a talented and diligent architect who has the skill to communicate her own vision while listening closely to understand, interpret and incorporate the vision of others. She can see around obstacles, deal with complex issues and keep her cool in the face of challenges. Our project was very challenging (building on a lake) and Heike was very deft at navigating the myriad rules and regs that come with such special circumstances. She was instrumental in helping us identify reliable providers throughout the course of our project and helped us to save some money by making smart decisions on materials. I highly recommend her as a true professional who can deliver !

We recently completed a renovation of an early 20th century farm house with Heike leading the architectural phase and completion of the project. Heike thoughtfully listen to our ideas and needs, then presented us with a plan that far exceeded our expectations. Her studied and insightful approach has created a home space that is very livable, up-to-date, while keeping an eye on the original integrity of the home. She collaborated well with the Building Department, Architectural Board Review, and Contractor. Heike was essential in successfully solving our small space challenge. We would highly recommend and would love to work again on a future project.

We retained Heike to re-arrange our appliances as part of a major kitchen remodeling with the objective of maximizing our use of existing high-quality cabinetry. She exceeded all of our expectations. Her attention to detail was exceeded only by her inspiring ideas and ingenuity. She met every deadline, stayed within budget and saved us money through re-use of cabinets. I highly recommend her.

We consider ourselves most fortunate to have been in Heike's professional hands for our remodeling project. She was a pleasure to work with! Not only is she personable, but highly skilled. From beginning to end, she has been, prompt, reliable, and professional. We built an addition to our craftsman style home, which needed the right set of skills and vision in order to maintain the look of our home while creating the space we wanted. She did it! She listened well to our needs and transformed that into a beautiful, functional plan with attention to energy/environmental concerns. When my husband and I had differing ideas, she was able to hear us both and see solutions. She answered every question, responded to every email/phone call and had our back every step of the way. She created a perfect design which came in on budget. Her fee was reasonable, and worth every penny. She worked with the town for variance and permits, and had a good working relationship with the contractor/builder. We would hire her again in a heartbeat.

Ms. Schneider did an outstanding job on my office 10 years ago and it has held up beautifully. She completely redesigned my office space, adding timeless contemporary touches to many traditional items such as my front desk, exam room sinks, doors and our coat rack. Over the years I have received many compliments from my patients on her extraordinary design and other medical offices in my vicinity have used my office as a template. The project was completed efficiently and smoothly thanks to her knowledgeable leadership.

Heike has been a pleasure to work with over the past 10 years. My husband and I engaged her to work on a broad range of projects such as 4 bathroom renovations, complete pool house modernization, new construction of a 3 car garage and the complete remodeling of a 4 story 100 year old Victorian town house in a different city. Her European training and background enable her to dig into her knowledge fund of avant-garde design concepts and state-of-the art (often green) building materials. Overall by re-envisionings spaces, she creates a pleasing and unique atmosphere that can be enjoyed for many years to come. She has been easy to work with and always responds to our phone calls or e-mails. We could not have found a more talented and reasonably priced professional!

Heike was our architect for an extensive kitchen addition and remodel. Work involved a complete gut renovation with all new flooring, electrical, plumbing, windows, cabinets, insulation, counters, etc. Heike listened to our needs, was thoughtful in her design and carefully considered sight lines and function. Her attention to detail was excellent. The town's architectural review board and Building Department approved our drawing set that Heike prepared on the first submission with no questions or comments. The result has been a beautiful kitchen and we are very pleased with the outcome. Overall a fantastic experience, we highly recommend Heike.

We fell in love with a quaint tudor cottage - only it was a bit too small. With ingenuity and attention to detail Heike was able to create the extra space. From the initial design meeting to the final CO Heike was always an extremely helpful, resouceful and responive professional that allowed us to untertake this project.

Heike is more than a professional, although she is a skilled and talented architect. She is personable, thorough, a true listener, conscientious of budgets and very creative. We transformed our lackluster one story home into the beautiful craftsman style home we dreamed of having on a relatively slim budget. She worked very well with our chosen builder, whom she met through us, collaborating on things like low cost vs. the spirit of the design. We are extremely happy with the results and highly recommend her for any project.
