THIS IS ALL LIES.
And what is this a photo of???
Deep-seated unhappiness existed here, long before I was sought out,
which cannot be healed with a home renovation.
It is unfortunate that anyone would imagine my company as being
"nightmarish" or that I am "rude".
And imagine is surely what they did.
To be clear, I am not a "gc" (general contractor) nor do I claim to be.
Quality work is something that we all strive for however, there is only so much that can be done if the existing, structural conditions within an older, multi-unit structure are less than perfect or if a client's budget is unrealistic.
'Bumps in the road' do occur, it's true, but they were addressed swiftly.
All of these factors were made very clear to the client, both verbally and in writing,
as well as during the numerous site visits that I made to the project,
including the final project inspections and punch list reviews.
The project was completed in a normal time-frame, but under an enormous amount of pressure from the client, who made unrealistic demands, based upon here-say from her friends.
The clients approved the budget (which was revised for them 4x)
as well as design (again, revised 4x) materials and workmanship.
In fact no communication was made with my office until a week before this review was allowed to be posted by Houzz & that call concerned a slow-draining sink,
which was resolved amicably with Ms Dougherty's spouse.
Shortly thereafter, Ms Dougherty asked for a full refund, for services previously rendered, under the threat of posting this slanderous review.
When I insisted that permits and licensed labor be used, to insure the safe execution of potentially dangerous work such as electrical and structural framing - rather than cutting corners & hiring unlicensed labor, as the client was pressuring me to do -
I was met with harassment & threats!
We were deep into the project at this point, so bowing out would have been unethical, despite the stress that this odd, abusive behavior put on my team.
