There are "decorators" and then there are true "designers." Decorators can pick nice things and make a room look good. Designers are on a completely different level and create amazing spaces that blow the mind. Marian is a designer, no doubt about that. Her garden in unbelievable, her home brilliantly executed and there's no denying the time and effort you put into it. Every space throughout the interior and exterior was thought out extensively to create a welcoming beautiful home. Every piece of furniture and art is placed perfectly. It's exciting to be part of great projects and I look forward to working with you!!!

I can still remember the first time I met Marian in her downtown Covington home. Although I was there to meet with her in regards to her landscape design and installation, what I found was an amazingly creative partner in the endeavor. It's rare to find someone who understands both the design of the interior of the home as well as the flow between indoor and outdoor living. Marian blends these two spaces flawlessly and makes you feel inspired in every room and space on the property. I would highly recommend her for her design capabilities! Shazamm! Marian's capacity to understand and translate her clients' desires into high end design concepts is truly remarkable. For us, she designed our living room and master bedroom. She has the ability to take individual items and weave them together into a beautiful, singular composition. She pays attention to all of the details that lead to a spectacular, unified result. Marian has a wealth of knowledge regarding different periods of interior design from classic to contemporary. She is familiar with all of the newest products and materials and knows where to source antiques from different periods. I highly recommend her without hesitation or reservation of any kind.

I contacted Marian Margetson after seeing her work published in a magazine. I liked the way she used antiques in a contemporary setting as well as her sense of light. Marian designed and oversaw the construction of our kitchen and co-designed our landscape. Over the years, I have relied on Marian for various design projects. My husband is a collector of 19th century French and contemporary paintings. For our first meeting, Marian had us each select a painting and discuss with her what we liked about it. I thought this was an interesting, efficient and effective way to get a sense of what we were about, i.e. what our eyes liked to see. With this information, Marian designed a Moroccan-inspired kitchen which still takes my breath away 10+ years later. I recall that one of my big concerns was that a brand new kitchen would make the rest of our home feel ‘tired’, thus requiring more remodeling. Marian assured me she would never do that to us. And she never did. The kitchen works seamlessly with the rest of the house. In fact, the kitchen stepped the whole house up. This was my introduction to interior design with a superbly talented professional. I was hooked. Our next project with Marian was our landscape. She worked with the talented landscape designer Tamara Lewis and Dave Romeri of Romeri Landscape. Marian’s focus was the back garden which is French-inspired. It brings me solace and joy. While the garden was being installed, Marian brought over a catalog to show me an Anduze pot. She suggested we buy a few for the French garden. What she showed me in the catalog was not an original but it was affordable. I thought "What the heck is an Anduze pot?" Well, that started a love affair which continues today and which inspired a trip to southern France in search of the original. Marian has inspired many 'love affairs' in my life. I think Marian is a gifted designer, highly intellectual and artistic. And QUICK!!! What she can see in her mind's eye in a matter of seconds is amazing. I think you get a lot of bang for your buck! She is wonderful to be with, very personable, generous, articulate and fun.
