Our family had an excellent and smooth experience building a new home on Beech Mountain with Bill Tuck and Mountain Craft Builders. Bill is very easygoing, is a great listener and communicator, and he is an honest man. He continually communicated the progress of the build with us, as we live out of state, and was open with the very few issues that arose. He worked closely with our interior designer and architect, both of whom raved about what a pleasure it was to work with him. Bill’s team is top-notch and professional, from the framers to his core interior team to all the subcontractors he hires. We are thrilled with the final product and were amazed that the whole process of building the house was not wrought with conflict, problems, delays, or anything negative at all. I think Bill’s excellent character, calm demeanor, and great communication skills help to make Mountain Craft Builders one of the best home builders in the High Country. His reputation is unmatched for quality of his work, his character, and his attention to detail and care.

Not only did they do an exceptional build-out by creating a third floor with bedrooms, bathroom and utility room our of our basement, the work done was designed and implemented beautifully. Bill and his crew are the best we've ever dealt with. Our complete renovation of our Mountain home lasted a couple of years which was by our choice as we worked our ways through the details. They were great at dealing with our changes and the level of customization they handled was incredible. Bill's also has decades of relationships that enabled us to save a lot of money on supplies for our kitchen, baths, wood mill, carpeting, hardwood, excavating, roofing, spray insulation, windows/doors, electrical, plumbing... virtually everything. And every contractor he brought to the house was very professional. We simply left a key and let them come and go without a single issue. The style and level of detail is unmatched in the area. During the showings of our house we had many inquiries as to who the Interior Decorator was... which was Bill's team. 10 out of 10. Highly recommended.

The builders excavated underneath our existing log cabin to create a new bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, owners closet and large porch outside. We were very satisfied with the result. The construction was excellent and the building materials were a perfect match for the cabin. Bill Tuck was helpful, knowledgeable and personally very likable. Best construction experience we have ever had.

Mountain Craft Builders ( directed by Bill Tuck) built a 32x28 garage with a 850sq.ft apartment on top of the garage. The effort was essentially a small house , with plumbing, electrical, HVAC and insulation. Also, the exterior needed to match the log home next to the garage. I am registered Professional Engineer in NC , so you can imagine I was pretty involved with the project day to day. I will say that Bill Tick and his team did an overall excellent job on the project. Bill communicated very well and often and the decisions we made were always well communicated to his team rapidly and accurately. He and his team were easy to work with and flexible with the changes we made along the way. The coordination between the structural, mechanical and electrical trade was good overall. The resulting quality of the structure was excellent. I would ( and have) recommended Bill and his team to several folks on Beech Mountain who are considering building or making making renovations.

Mountain Craft Builders did a fantastic job on replacing a second story 4 piece window that had been leaking. As soon as Bill saw the window and what was happening he knew exactly what had happened. The guys were very professional and considerate. They went above and beyond to get our job done quickly and correctly. I really appreciate them and would definitely have them do any future work for us!

Bill took a handwritten "dream" for remodeling and building and did an awesome job. His recommendations for materials and fixtures were great. He even had a custom designed utility table (on rollers, with shelves) built to fit the space, along with other items we wanted. In fact, we got one of the ideas from Houzz! His professional, respectful and easy manner made it a good experience, even with inevitable delays with construction. His communication of progress timeline was frequent, clear and thoroughly understood. Bill is a very honest business person and we would highly recommend using Mountain Craft Builders!
