Working with Maika has been one of the most rewarding creative experiences that I’ve ever had. She is endlessly creative. How does she come up with these fantastic ideas and amazing objects ??? She is very project driven – meeting budget is important to her. She presented me with a selection of options instead of just forcing one design decision. And her decisions always adhere to the project’s design goals that she and I agreed to at the beginning of the project. Best of all, Maika is a joy to work with. She is one of the most delightful people that I’ve ever met. I appreciate her patience and guidance with my own indecisions and insecurities about what I wanted for my condo. In the end, Maika delivered a design that has been featured in local style magazines, won design awards and continues to be shown by the building’s sales team to ‘Wow” potential new condo owners. I could not be happier. I have developed so much confidence in Maika, that I would trust her to design and manage any project. Background about my project A historic, 8 story Montgomery Wards warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas was being converted into loft condominiums. I purchased one of the 2,000 sq ft units with 2 bedrooms, 2 and a half baths. This was going to be my home, so I needed an interior designer who could deliver a balanced yet highly creative design. Maika Winter was already the lead interior designer for the entire building renovation project. She designed the lobbies, amenity rooms, pool deck, theater, hallways, everything. Her work on the common areas was so fantastic that I wanted her to design my own condo unit. Maika and I decided on the important design themes for the condo URBAN UPTOWN but not overly contemporary LIVABLE but also stylish CLASSIC so the design won’t look dated in 10 years TEXAS a light touch of Texas but not too country western SIGNATURE PIECES in key spaces but no clutter AUTHENTIC and not too design conscious

I have known Maika for several years now and have had the opportunity to work with her on multiple projects. Maika is a forward thinking designer with the ability to mix her clients' needs, their budgets, and her ideas masterfully while maintaining a team focused approach that results in a fantastic finished product that everyone involved can be proud of and something everyone thoroughly enjoyed working on.

Commented: Mixing chrome mirror and fixtures with polished nickel sconceI usually try not to mix them when they are that close to each other, because they look pretty different. You don't want "almost matching but not quite". The nickel is warmer, chrome is more cool g...
Commented: How to fit a dark color furniture into a light color roomContrast is a good thing! Sounds like it will look great in there- beds should be a statement. Love the white bedding idea too. If you need to ground it, you could do that with a rug, but even that...
