The project was to produce "Tardis" fitted units that had more room on the inside than they occupied in the bedroom. This to be achieved by using the void behind the bedroom wall. Nick was the only person we talked to who was genuinely interested in this complex project. He designed it perfectly to our spec - which showed he listened. He then executed the work in beautifully natural maple - which showed his attention to detail and the quality of his craftsmanship. The result is stunning in both quality and looks and well worth the cost. I should also mention the two bedside 3 drawer units to match - beautiful. I would be happy to show anybody the finished job.

We approached Nick to design for a home office area, which wouldn't look too 'officey'. He provides tremendous attention to detail from the start to the very end of his projects. Most of the furniture is constructed from high quality English oak, but he introduced an excellent element, where part of the book shelves are an exact colour match to the adjacent kitchen units. We used Newleaf as part of a general refurbishment of much of our ground floor. They did a number of fiddly jobs (eg moving part of a staircase) as well as some custom made doors and furniture. In our experience, it is not often that work of this nature lives up to one’s expectations, but in this instance, the desk/bookcase and integrated TV, sideboard and book/ornament display units that Nick Butler built for us surpassed our expectations. The units are beautiful; their functionality is exactly what we hoped for; the craftsmanship, finish and detail are superb. I chose Newleaf Furniture after reading Nick’s reviews. I really liked the fact that his customers said he listened to what they wanted. Nick built me some floating oak bookshelves for my lounge, a built-in dining room cupboard, as well as some understairs cupboards, which are fabulous. Nick is very patient with a keen eye for detail. The work done by Newleaf in our newbuild has been excellent. We have a custom build utility room and inbuilt wardrobes in several bedrooms. For each Nick listened to our needs and spent a long time ensuring each was designed to meet them. He made many visits to measure up as the house was built and was also able to make changes as the house build did not go to plan! He was a pleasure to work with. We were aware of the quality of Nick's work from a friend and so asked him to quote for making two book cases to fit either side of a chimney breast. The shelving was reclaimed pine and the carcass was painted MDF. We agreed to the price quoted and he completed the work to the timescale and to the price agreed. He was very tidy and although such projects tend to create a lot of dust, he cleared up after each day's work. We are very happy with our new book shelves.

We hired Nick to build some bookshelves either side of a mantelpiece in our sitting room. He cleverly designed a series of shelves made from reclaimed pine floorboards which were beautifully finished and designed to hold some very hefty books. Although they were rather difficult to install as nothing in this house has a straight line, Nick was very & thorough & he completed the job to a very high finish. Nick is very talented & passionate about what he does & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
