Our backyard dream We started this journey during COVID. The initial contractor and permitting process turned our backyard dream into ongoing nightmare until Cameron of OC Deck and Patio stepped in. Cameron kept us on track through the permit process and before we knew it, construction began. He made us aware of the next step weekly (either in person or by email). His crew, especially his right arm man, Brian were friendly, timely and professional bringing our project to life and making it a place of joy. We would highly commend OC Deck and Patio for your dream backyard.

My wrap around deck was in dire need of help due to significant termite and dry rot damage. OC Deck & Patio delivered. They understood exactly what I wanted and I could not be happier with the result. The crew was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.

Cameron is owner, Jeff is the guy that get's everything done. I generally liked the character of both. Jeff is amazing at his craft, incredibly knowledgable and hard working. If I needed anything I went direct to Jeff as he had more answers and direction on the day-to-day. We love the final product but were consistently disappointed with timelines and overall management. Jeff did the best he could as it's really just a 1 man operation when it comes to actual build out. By the time permits were in hand we were put into a very busy schedule of theirs. All good, Cameron articulated as much. They made best efforts juggling us between other projects. However, Cameron missed a major timeline to order the railing material. Jeff pushed me to get Cameron to confirm delivery as he was waiting for railing. When Cameron followed up with supplier at my request, he learned the order wasn't properly placed and they were given a 5-6 week timeline from that point for delivery which was unacceptable. Cam and Jeff got creative and were able to take on much of the work themselves to move that up which I appreciated. But once we were ready to get it installed it was delay after delay, no commitment on completion, and I unfortunately had to turn into the pestering client to get it done. They finally did and product is great. Then a month later we received a Mechanics Lien on our house because they did not pay Ganahl Lumber for materials, but they had cashed all of our checks. We immediately made OC Deck aware of this. I emailed, called, and texted and no immediate reply. So I went to their office and was told by the receptionist they paid it that day. After my visit Cam responded to my text that it was resolved. This is a good example of my overall experience...while everything got done, it required unnecessary frustration, time, and energy on my part following up on multiple items due to their lack of proactive and professional management. Well intentioned, very skilled, but seemingly spread too thin causing delays and poor project management as described above.

Hired OC Deck & Patio to build an Ipe Fence and two gates. Brian and his crew were the consummate professionals: on time, on budget and the work product result is fantastic! I came to know OC Deck & Patio because they did work for two of my neighbors and would rate that work product five stars as well! Strongly recommend using OC Deck & Patio and we will be using them again in the future.

I had the owner of the company come to my home. I told him what I wanted. I have an indoor atrium that I wanted a wood deck installed. I have a large space outdoors where I wanted a deck built. I wanted a wood slat fence panel built, custom outdoor window treatments. He seemed very enthusiastic about the project and said he would e-mail a quote on Saturday, which was three days away. I never got the quote, and I left three messages on his phone. Never heard a word back. I would not recommend this "pro"?

We absolutely love our new outdoor areas thanks to OC Decks. Brian and his crew are professional, deliver as promised and bring true craftsmanship and creativity to wood working. We installed a new ipe deck with stainless steel cables, a, ipe spa deck and custom planter and bench. All turned out better and more beautiful than we imagined!

We could not be happier with OC Deck & Patio. Brian and his team designed and built an EPY deck for our home in Laguna Beach. The job was extremely detailed which included two levels, glass railings, stairs, a/c surround and planters. The completed project is absolutely perfect. Brian is extremely knowledgeable, offering us options all along the way in order to stay within our budget. His attention to detail and professionalism was unparalleled. I think the greatest quality of Brian and his team was how much they cared to make us happy. The end result is absolutely amazing. We cannot wait to start entertaining!!

We had been searching for someone for months to help us with a Trex deck and Azek cable railing but unbelievably nobody seemed to know much about them. The bids we received were uncertain and pretty wide open. We called OC Deck and Patio and Brian Young and his crew knew exactly what we needed and gave us a concise and very reasonable bid. After meeting with several general contractors, I didn’t get the feeling that they understood the scope and scale of my project. The front entry was moving upstairs and the deck was to connect the house to the garage. This was all new construction. Because this was a structural project, I needed someone that specialized doing decks with concrete foundations. Working with high quality materials and flawless execution was very important because this would be the new entry to my home. After searching numerous hours on Houzz, I found OC Deck & Patio. Meeting with Brian (the owner) and discussing material choices, foundation and building code requirements, I was confident that he knows his stuff! He's an amazing craftsman with exceptional attention to detail. That's why I decided to hire OC Deck & Patio. For my project, I selected ipe and a stainless cable rail system. Brian gave me various options which allowed me to make decisions based on my budget. The entire OC Deck & Patio team was very easy to work with. They were on time, very polite and hardworking. My new deck was completed on time and on budget. The final results were beyond my expectations! I highly recommend OC Deck & Patio.

We just had our deck and patio cover replaced and Brian and his team did a WONDERFUL job! Our deck and patio cover were over 35 years old and falling apart and very dangerous. We used the Trex deck flooring, on the balcony, and just love it! No more termite damage to that! Brian was very professional and explained every part of the process to get them replaced. His team was very courteous and did a great job taking care of our place while they worked. We paid the price we were told and we felt it was very fair and the job took about a month (rain got in way a few times). My husband and I love our new deck and patio cover; they look beautiful! I would definitely recommend OC Deck & Patio!!
