Had them come to give estimate. Owner sent 2 workers to examine job. While there, they called owner explaining job and he told them what the quote was to tell me. I overheard the conversation. Day before the scheduled start date, owner came over to check the job out and after arriving he stated the job would be more than the quote. I ended up splitting the difference with him which I maybe shouldn’t have, and he completed the job. He also said he was going to use kiln dried lumber to attach gutters to and I told him pressure-treated only. Workmanship was shoddy. Gutter was not placed under roof edge to catch water and water dripped down on ground. Explained situation on phone to him and he said he would come by and fix. Never came by until I hired a lawyer to contact him. He came when I wasn’t there and repaired very poorly. Was so fed up I just let it go and hired another contractor to fix properly. Watch out, shoddy work and bait and switch.
