Royal Illusions Faux Finishes
As a child, I always had a passion for art. I could never just use paints or colors as they were given to me; I had to mix them all together to make a tone of my own. When I was in high school, I asked my dad if I could paint my bedroom with a collage of colors. A little hesitant, he said, "OK, but only in your bedroom." Lucky for me, that's where it all started! Soon I had a full time "hobby" painting the homes of family and friends. After graduating high school, I went to college, worked at a wedding dress boutique my parents owned, and met my husband. My mom, knowing my heart wasn't into retail, did some research and found several schools for art and faux finishing to help steer me in the right direction of what I loved to do! Not long after, I was on my way to Denver, Omaha, then Houston, following my dreams. With the support of my husband and family at my side, I established Royal Illusions Faux Finishes in 2001. Since then, I have been graced with being able to custom design finishes for residential and commercial properties from Texas to Florida, becoming friends with many of my clients along the way. My most memorable project by far is the church I painted in New Orleans for the television show, Extreme Makeover: Katrina Series. It was such an honor to be asked to help in the rebuilding of our beloved city. In closing, to all my customers, friends, and family, thanks for enabling me to do what I love everyday!
