Our family has passionately designed and created outdoor furniture for over a quarter century. This sense of commitment moves us to continuously enhance what we do and delight our customers. Allison Biography Before founding Summer Classics-Louisville, Allison Carothers worked in a family business, Backyard Essentials Pool and Spa construction in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. It was during this time developing pools and outdoor living areas for Kentuckiana families that Allison became familiar with the Summer Classics brand of furnishings. Allison was placed in charge of the outdoor furnishings and accessories and quickly developed an expertise and rapport with the industry-leading furniture manufacturer. What was once a small section of the family pool construction business soon developed into a premium showroom with increasing demands for floorspace and experienced designers. In 2008, Allison decided to launch Summer Classics-Louisville. Taking over a former Winn Dixie grocery store space in the Westport Village Shopping Center, Allison transformed it into a distinctive showroom covering 10,000 ft2. The remodeled space features the distinctive Summer Classics outdoor collections and the elegant, award-winning Gabby interior collections. Allison combines her experience as an operating executive with her knowledge of fabrics and styles to assist her clients in creating an outdoor space that truly fits their personality and extends their living area. An accomplished businesswoman and designer, Allison combines her natural eye for aesthetics and color combinations with the Southern traditions of hospitality and comfortable charm and a tireless family work ethic she has been taught since she was a teenager. It is this diverse history that provides Allison with brand and market instincts that consistently drives Summer Classics-Louisville to the top of national retail sales charts.
