From mini-makeover packages to full turnkey design and build renovation projects, Smallisland Designs offers an array of interior design services. Smallisland Designs draws from European, Caribbean and Houston based experience, that is tailored to meet your budget and style criterion. Shona Begg was born in Barbados and studied architecture at the avant-garde Architectural Association, School of Architecture in London, England. With her Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Shona joined the prestigious practice of John Stefanidis Ltd. Ranked by Architectural Digest as one of the Top 100 Designers, Shona was exposed to a wealth of design creativity under his tutelage. Emerging into the Houston market, Shona re-entered the design field with her own company Smallisland Designs and brings a unique flair with a commitment to quality and an assurance of professionalism.

Shona was hired on to help with the remodel of an investment property. We wanted someone to come in and give the home a luxury feel without the luxury price tag. She did exactly that! Shona was amazing. I work with numbers but no clue on colors & texture. She was able to change the fireplace from drab too wow! It remains a wow factor when family and friends come over. I love my kitchen, the cabinets and bathroom. Highly recommend Shona.

I absolutely LOVED working with Shona at Smallisland Designs. I had a basic idea of what I wanted, but no idea how to make it happen. I was presented with some options for our tile floor (yes, it’s tile!!!) and our kitchen refresh, and before I knew it I was living in a new house! She listened to our requests, and made it beautiful while staying on budget. I highly recommend this company!!
